    Default NBA 2022-23 Season Thread

The Covid “jab” and you don’t blame him? Lol. I’m not even going to go there because this is not the thread for that. But yes he quit on his team by being a moron. And he’s still a moron. Not to mention he’s a piece of shit antisemite no matter what the fuck he says. The Nets should’ve sent him to rot in Charlotte or something.

It’s nauseating the Lakers will try to sign this piece of shit next year. Having him in purple and gold will be embarrassing. But the Lakers have already done so many stupid things the last few years that none of it would be surprising. They already brought one cancer in here in Westbrick, why not bring in another one to replace him.

And yeah, I will have a very hard time supporting them with him on that roster. I will.

Sometimes, I think we need to invoke the morals clause when it comes to the teams we support. It's not throwing the baby out with the bath water, it's holding them accountable. Brett, I can understand why it would be hard for you to support the team you've loved all your life if they signed somebody like Irving. I had a really hard time with the Vikings for a minute when Adrian Peterson beat his four year old son and stuck leaves in his mouth. Four years old. That's not anywhere near humane or appropriate discipline for a four year old baby. I nearly quit the team as a fan after 38 years--I was 6 when they became my favorite team. Anyway, I'm glad the Lakers didn't sign that reject of human being.

Lakers are in a bind because they have a 38-yr old Lebron defying Father Time and that could end at any moment. That’s why it would be entertained.

I don’t see how Kyrie comes to LA next year unless it’s on a big discount. (I’m also not a cap expert.) I suppose we may see what the market is for him. Maybe there’s no big offers.

Same time, tough to think how it ends in LA is any different than the end in Cleveland, Boston, and Jersey.

You could make the argument that what the Lakers really need are some 3 and D guys, not a semi (or fully)-crazy superstar. I’m also a bit worried about Ham’s learning curve versus Lebron’s window. Watching Beverley get pummeled by Ingram over and over with Rui on the bench was driving me insane.

Yeah, the Lakers need to win now. The problem is there just really isn’t a way for them to win now. They’re not horrible but they’re not great. They are just an average team. I don’t know how you make them that much better at this point. There are some trades that could help, but I just think it’s a nucleus that isn’t built to win much.

Cuban has the money to offer Irving the max. If he's happy there he probably stays with Dallas because with a Luka/Irving backcourt if it works they will be really good. I still think it's a dumb trade because Spencer Dinwiddie wasn't worth this guy but your not getting him without an all-star level player. I would have liked it more for Dallas if they kept Dinwiddie somehow. He was playing really well for them 2nd best player behind Luka. Maybe Dallas makes another move before the NBA trade deadline.

They are an average team because it's 2023 not 2013. LeBron/Westbrook/Davis in 2013 would have been almost unstoppable.

Would love to know how much Brooklyn paid Kyrie per game played. Might have to figure that out when I get home tonight just for shits and giggles, though I am sure someone else has already done it.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

As anyone ever blew up multiple great situations like Kyrie????

    Cleveland: Lebron, Kyrie, K Love

Boston: Kyrie, J Brown, J Tatem

    Brooklyn: KD, Kyrie, Harden

How do you fuck up that many situations????

The one good thing for DALLAS, this almost forces Coach Jason Kidd to cut down on Luka's Usage %. It was among the highest in the NBA. Luka is only 23, but they were running him into the ground to even stay at .500 (28-26).

    ++++

If Spencer Dinwiddie is your 2nd best player, I am not sure if you are a Championship contender. They are rolling the dice on some possible magic with Kyrie and Luka.

I actually had no idea, but I came across it somewhere.
