    Cool.
I always found it ironic that Ed didn't want Sammy to write lyrics that alluded to tornados, yet the music sends that very message.

Possibly the greatest guitar solo ever recorded. Totally and completely ahead of it's time, it heralded a new era in the way the electric guitar was played and heard. Long live the mighty Edward Van Halen!

Yeah, I think this is the correct answer. For a full display of the entire band--the vocals, the writing, the musicianship--this song is, IMO, top tier. VH has many, many songs from which to choose, and so many are worthy, but I'll go with In A Simple Rhyme. It's great for so many different reasons.

True, but it only showcases Eddie.

RR, nice choice! By the time of WACF the band was clearly evolving and expanding their musical chops. As others have mentioned, In A Simple Rhyme is another amazing song showcasing the entire band. I would also add Romeo Delight as that was the one jam I remember being blown away the most when I first saw them live in 1980. Check out the boots of this tour to hear what I'm talking about!

I know this is the song that literally broke the band apart but I still love it. It's really aggressive and EVH especially fired it up with all the awesome guitar sounds. I still crank it quite often while enjoying a cold one with some tasty nugs!

The vox of Sammy (especially on the verse) ruins everything.
The solo is not bad, but objectively, we can't say the last part is the most inspired thing Eddie made with his guitar.
To crown it all, the sound is very far from the quality of Balance of the same Bruce Fairbairn.
This song prov that there was no more chemistry beetween Ed and Sammy at this time !

Humans Being. First time I heard it I flipped my lid. Bigtime . Goosebumps City. Up & down all over. Instant sonic love.

It is very much a sonic cinematic musical journey of vivacious emotions & overwhelming substance diving sensational masterpiece of the absolute highest magnitude almost to the point of a divine religious awaking.

It has everything. Ups. Downs. Ins. Outs. The vocals & lyrics of the chorus are delivered with powerful emotions & precision. Simple & effective.

    Shine On. Shine On.

But listen to the voice. The vocals. Full of different aural intensity. Dynamic. Powerful. Clear & concise.

Then. Listen to the musical landscape. It's a whirlwind of outstanding layers of powerful emotions delivered at maximum high velocity & sheer sonic excellence.

    Phenomenonal.

I still to this day remember exactly when and where I was when I heard Humans Being for the first time.

Mainly because it was such a shock, pre internet. I had no idea VH was releasing a new song.

I was going thru this spell where I was sleeping with the radio on, wasn't sleeping much.

Around 230am I heard that guitar and was like this is VH... I couldn't believe what I had just heard.

I listened to Humans Being repeatedly every morning on the way to work for about a year. It's easily one of the most underrated VH songs. Ed's sheer genius playing on that song is over the top. Although I think the darkness of where the band was coupled with the lyrics probably detracted from it some. That being said, it seems to me that Sam does his best work when he's pissed.

I'd love to thank whoever made this segue.

This, on a proper pair of speakers, will give you goosebumps. Or a boner. Or stiff nipples. Maybe all 3 at once.

I love Humans Being. The bridge is one of Eddie's best. I remember hearing it the first time through on the radio and I almost drove off of the road.

I understand why some issues with it. But I love it. One of my favorite VH tunes.

I believe the studio and producers of the movie asked that Sam not write about tornados. Ed mentioned this in an interview and then mentioned "But he did anyway."

Whatever the case, I love "Humans Being." One of Van Hagar's best in my opinion. From the opening chords to the fade out...and everything in between. Of course I'm referring to the complete extended version and not the shortened video version MTV seemed hell bent on playing most of the time.
