So here is the problem. One minute in, and he says a report by US analysts from different agencies concluded that COVID may have come from a lab, manufactured by the Chinese military and released, that many informed people believe that is exactly what happened, and then he goes on to theorize the motive, China becoming the dominant world leader.

Watch that first minute or two if you haven’t.

What does it say? ”We judge the virus was not developed as a biological weapon. Most agencies also assess with low confidence that SARS-CoV-2 probably was not genetically engineered; however, two agencies believe there was not sufficient evidence to make an assessment either way. Finally, the IC assesses China’s officials did not have foreknowledge of the virus before the initial outbreak of COVID-19 emerged.”

He takes that and tells his viewers the report said it may have come from that, many informed people believe that’s what happened, and China would do it it to become the dominant global player by hitting the US.

I don’t know how a serious person can reject mainstream media as false and then believe this snake oil salesman.

An un-named source was responsible for most of the liberal media's bombshells and facts. It's pretty disgusting on both sides of the media. But for some reason the left side seems to get free pass.

He's a very good talking head. Like most of his type (on either side of the political spectrum in America) there are tiny portions of facts in his monologues. Unfortunately, he typically wraps them in piles of bullshit. No different than the people on CNN. He's just a little better at it. I've always suspected covid was an act of war. If the tucker's audience agrees then great. That's actual real progress. So much better than thinking covid was a media created nothing burger.

So low confidence from a few Intelligence Agencies and moderate confidence from one. Wouldn’t you love to know which ones gave which assessments?

Could the Chinese military have developed it and leaked it on purpose? Sure. But the report not only doesn’t say that, it rejects most of it.

I don't believe anything from anyone anymore. Like I said a few days ago in some thread. If 60% of what Fox says about Ds and what CNN says about Rs is true there are many running the USA past and present who need to do jail time. Is this plausible? Yes, but then the other side believes in the Steel dossier etc. All this shit drives me crazy which is why I limit what I view. I bit on this one and I must say its a doozy. Meanwhile all these talking heads are cleaning up and write books on the best seller list and live like kings. The evidence on video about Biden lying about his sons business dealings is just as bad a Trump telling Zelenski to go after Bidens son etc. My father always told me all politicians are crooks and this was long before the internet and cable news. This is why I vote independent and I will never bow down to any party or platform.

Without watching that Tucker video (sorry I'm trying to cut down on my primetime cable "news" bullshit), or reading the reports, my opinion has mutated over time (see what I did there?).

At first the wet market was put out there and so that was what I believed. Then I heard that there was a virology lab nearby...well, that's kind of strange. Then it became an "accidental lab leak." Of course it's possible, so I went with that. That theory is leading at the moment for me. But I wrestle with it because I have to imagine that security is top-notch at a virology lab for such a thing to 'escape.' But, like I said, it's possible.

Bottom line is...I don't know. It's a shame that we'll probably never know exactly. Fuckin' China. And so, theories go 'round, and it becomes a breeding ground for the conspiracy theorists. Great.

If this was some sort of "leak" or worse, a planned event, it's really backfired on China. Their economy took a big hit, they can't meet production or shipping demands and they're still doing draconian lockdowns. Granted, the Chinese government treats its citizens like expendable ants, but the country didn't get through this without taking a big hit like every other 1st world country.

Maybe so! I think the fact that we were funding research in that lab to take bat viruses and infect humans prior to this puts up some serious smoke. We know what we funded was not a genetic match to OG COVID, but it’s not a stretch to think that research continued.

That said, basically every virus that’s affected humans in history has leapt from animals to humans. So the simpler explanation makes sense, too.

Either way, the report does not say what Carlson very heavily implies it does, and that’s the problem, here. This is huckster stuff.

I get not believing people on here; you have no reason to…though the Carlson video is posted for all to see and the summary of the report he is talking about is linked.

But I’m unclear why we should put any more faith in a comedian and a physician speaking about the June, 2020, World Economic Forum that neither attended. What special insight do they have?
