    Default My New EP

    Hey fellow linkers,

I posted this in musician's corner as well, wasn't sure which thread it would fit better in. (Moderators feel free to adjust or what have you)

Here is my most recent musical excursion. (6 songs totaling 19 minutes and change)

    https://soundcloud.com/joezrocks/set...social_sharing

And it's tag line: Joe Z's 2022 EP, "The Astonishing Joe Z EP" fresh in front of your naked steaming eyes, complete with guitar pyrotechnics, 8-bit interludes, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, 80's tinged vibes, and catchy hooks for your musical enjoyment. If you like it; tell a friend, if you hate it tell an enemy - Joe Z will be here either way.

    FYI -

All tracks were recorded with a Peavey Wolfgang Special (Stock) & an EVH Standard (Modified) through an EVH 3 50watt head with a Mesa Cab Clone & Behringer Cab DI onto a Korg D1600. NO MICS WERE USED FOR GUITARS AT ALL. (If you want pedals, strings, which guitar for which song, and tricks - ask me from which track; I'm more than happy to share).

8 Bit sounds came from the Sega Genesis version of Capt America and the Avengers sound test screen (Satisfaction, Guaranteed) as well as an online 8 bit tone generator (Love).

Drums were recorded with an Alesis 24 bit SR16.

Bass was done DI using a Fender Mexi Jazz through an SVT Sans Amp.

Choppa FX (Gotta Love Her) was done by strangling an ancient Yamaha Keyboard to do something it wasn't meant to do.

Hope you get some enjoyment out of it!

Love it. I hear so many influences in there. Could be the soundtrack for a throwback 80's movie.

Listening to it now. Just a couple of minutes in but I'm getting serious Devo vibes. Fun stuff!

Dude, your vocals crack me up! It's like what would happen if Steve Vai and Weird Al made a record together.

I think Love is the standout track, but I honestly enjoyed them all. 80s all the way, man!

    Thanks for the feedback guys!

PS - Devo & Weird Al are influences outside of VH for me.

PPS - I should have some basic videos up week by week starting next week to go with the music.

And the soundcloud versions are downloadable if you really dig it!

    Thanks for the support!
