On Easter Sunday, the California Department of Corrections notified the teens’ parents that Ortega-Anguiano would be released in July, just three and a half years into his 10-year sentence.

By law, if there is a pending release, California must notify any registered victims. Once a release is known to be coming, ICE can then put a detainer on the the perp.

California usually abides by these requests in these situations.

So what is missing from the story, here, is who believed California wouldn't abide in this situation, if they normally do, and why did they believe that?

No, not forced. They can't be forced. No state can. Tenth amendment applies.

Despite that, the Fox News article says they usually do, in these cases. So, again, if California normally works with ICE in a case like this, what was the specific concern that they would not, in this case?

If there isn't, this seems like someone just creating a controversy where there was none.

I think the way this pos’s case has been handled says it all. The parents of both victims certainly weren’t assured that he wouldn’t see freedom. They got emotional and broke down while they were explaining the call they got and asking for help.

A Milwaukee County circuit judge has been arrested by the FBI over allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant "evade arrest," according to FBI Director Kash Patel.

Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested on obstruction charges, according to Patel.

"The FBI arrested Judge Hannah Dugan out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on charges of obstruction -- after evidence of Judge Dugan obstructing an immigration arrest operation last week," he posted. "We believe Judge Dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, allowing the subject -- an illegal alien -- to evade arrest."

"Thankfully our agents chased down the perp on foot and he’s been in custody since, but the Judge’s obstruction created increased danger to the public," Patel said.

Dugan was arrested early Friday at the courthouse, a law enforcement official told ABC News.

This should be a model for states across the country on how to tackle organized crime and break violent gangs like MS-13.
