Very interesting concept, but there is absolutely nothing about those rankings that makes any sense at all, for any age groups. It's so weird, I don't know where they're getting that.
The Top 10 is somewhat reasonable but everything after is just nuts. More people heard of Jon Bon Jovi than "Bon Jovi?" And the Stones? Not that I'm a fan, but U2 is #149 and Nirvana #127? And like you said about Billie Eilish? I'm surprised Chip Z'Nuff (not Enuff Z'Nuff--just Chip) isn't on there above Streisand. But still below Bertie Higgins, of course.
But hey, our boy (and boys) beat The Who and the Eagles. No DLR or Sammy though.Dave

has Minneapolis done anything for Prince or Gainesville done anything for Tom Petty?

That's partly Van Halen's doing: they became a retro act, and to the younger generations, they became irrelevant. Anecdotally, a lot of mainstream fans lost interest in the band - at least the ones who I came across - for the reason I stated.
Part of the lack of relevancy may have been due to Ed's health, yet I think somewhere along the way, he lost interest. I remember in the late 80's, the Stone's came back from the dead, with Steel Wheels. Aerosmith came back with Janie's Got A Gun. Granted, rock was still popular at the time, but both were aging bands which brought themselves back, yet Van Halen did nothing to remain relevant.
As for Billie Ellish, she's current, has some talent, and, aside from her zombie eyes, she's attractive."It wasn't Ed's playing that inspired me, it was his spirit. The playing was merely a manifestation of that spirit." - Speedway
"Van Halen with DLR was "my band," VH with Sam was a band I liked." - Dave's Dreidel
"Eddie may have passed, but he will NEVER die!"

Ok y'all. How stupid of me to think the GOAT deserves more from his hometown and if your kids barely know who EVH is after all these years on a VH forum...you failed as a parent.
That's hilarious.

Case in point, Cobra Kai. Don't tell me Johnny Lawrence is not a MASSIVE Van Halen fan. He definitely got into fights in high school over the Sammy/Dave debate (imagine the dialog "What?!?!? You've never heard Eruption?? Hawk, hit the ground and give me 20!").
But I'm sure the VH camp didn't allow VH songs to be used on the show (I can almost hear them, "what, a youtube show about karate, are you kidding?). Huge mistake, once again. The fact that VH doesn't tour anymore doesn't mean the music couldn't be all over the streamers, in movies, etc. The band's strategy needs to improve.

Golden State in most of their playoff runs to the championship have had some luck on their side. If Miami wins game 7 that fits the narrative for them quite well. I agree Celtics definitely a tougher...
