MLB - 2022 thread
Only 72 games. LMAO!!!!. That’s basically half the season! No he’s not going to turn around and magically be a .300 hitter this year. He’s just not. It was a stupid deal for Texas. Everyone knew it and now it’s proving itself. There’s a reason why the Dodgers had no intention of giving him that kind of money. He’s not worth it.

The thing is he plays half of his games in a complete hitters park. He’s having the worst year of his career in the easiest stadium he’s ever going to play in. And yes his numbers stink. Plus he was hurt every other year for some stupid reason. He’a just not a guy worth that kind of money.

Little dust-up in Toronto last night with the Red Sox. Didn't think the pitch that hit Kirk was too bad. But I have no problem if those two teams want to beat each other up. LOL

This must be the first time anyone has even brought up Corey Seager this year. Dodgers rolled on without him, as most expected. Trea Turner has been real good. Not as much power as Seager, but better overall #s.
Everyone knew it was an overpay, but C Seager plays a premium position (SS) and was in what should be his prime. He also came up big in the 2020 NLCS and WS, he is a winner.
The new stadium in Texas(Globe Life Field) is not as much of a hitters park as the previous stadium (GL Field at Arlington). It is actually neutral this season. Dodgers Stadium is actually a better hitters park per Baseball Ref this year.
I wouldn't be surprised if he has some kind of small nagging injury. Also he is trying to do to much. His Fly Ball % is way up, LD and GB is down.. Changing leagues can also make a difference, so players take a whole year to figure it out.
If he keep playing at his current pace, he will actually hit a career high in HRs. But that alone is not worth $33 mil per.
I am guessing he turns it around eventually. His older brother was able to hit for power into his early 30s.

Achievements:
Royals move Santana for prospects. Don't stop there. Benintendi(Blue Jays ?), Michael Taylor, Greinke , Merrifield. I'd say Salvy too, but I don't think they will do that.
Blow the whole goddamn thing up. I'm ready to see the young guys.Utilize. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
I love coffee and sarcasm.

I can’t help but watch Bo Bichette and think to myself “my son played against him 14 years ago…”

I believe he hit a home run.
Kiermaier gave the Blue Jays a nice Canada Day present yesterday, but that's okay - first time for the Blue Jays at home on Canada Day since 2019, so y'all deserved a win. That photo was before the game, eh? I do remember them doing an on field interview just before the game and there was a crack in the roof, and then later on it was fully open. I still remember when I went there and the roof was closed while I was outside and I wanted to see them open the roof and i figured it would be loud and so I'd know when to go look, but by the time I got to the seats it was already open!
