Help me decide on EL34 1 x 12 or 2 x 12 combo

I spent quite a bit of time trying to decide on the right combo - Iconic vs. EL34. In the end I prefer the EL34, though I have to say the iconic is really nice, and the price is really attractive.

That decision made, I am on the fence with the 1 x 12 or 2 x 12.

Weight difference is 20lbs. Either way, they are both heavy. I only play out once a month or so.

I'm thinking the 2 x 12 offers some better tonal qualities just by virtue of having two speakers.

Any suggestions?

Are your monthly gigs mic’d through a PA?

If yes, 1x12. If no, 2x12 with a stand of some sort.

No PA. It's been something we have discussed if we continue.

2 x 12 if you gig and you will need to elevate it. I have found the best gig rig is a 4 x 12 angled cab. or (2) 2 x 12 angled cabs otherwise your cab needs to be on a stand or chair or at least angled up. especially if you have no monitors.
