I don't know if there's an older thread about Vito, but I recently picked up the All You Need Is Rock'n'Roll Box set (All 4 albums & a Live recording during the Pride tour) and there are certain things he does (like when listening to Ed) that I can't put my fingers on.

I've heard the Vito comparisons to Ed before, but I don't care; good chops are good chops.

If any one has any comments to share on Vito, or his techniques, I'd be fascinated to hear 'em.

I'm working through Little Fighter right now because I think its a medium difficulty with a range of his styles within.

I always thought he was a great player, but it’s hard to get past the cheesiness of that band to sometimes appreciate how good he was. I just never liked White Lion, so I didn’t listen to him probably as much as I would have had I enjoyed their music more. They were always just another hairband to me that I kind of got burned out on. I think he would’ve been a lot bigger if he was in a better band.

Is White Lion a crappy band or just crappy lyrics? Not a big fan of White Lion but am a fan of Vito's playing.

I thought they had some good stuff.. I always liked their cover of Radar Love, as a 17 year old thought the video was cool, esp that red head chick in the beer joint

Vito is a really great guy. I was lucky enough to meet him through a family member in the business back in High School when these dudes were like super heroes. He used to send me Christmas cards that had White Lions pulling Santas sleigh.

Saw the 2nd to last White Lion show ever in a very small club in NJ in 1991. An absolutely amazing live player.
Made smart decisions and knew when it was over. He still lives in Staten Island NY. And yeah that Radar Love cover is pretty sick.

Tramp was living in Indonesia somewhere for a time and playing very small venues (in America) acoustically pre-covid.
Greg D'Angelo lives out west and made alot more $$ after he left the band.
And James Lomenzo tours with Dave Mustaine/Megadeth.

Not everybody's cup of tea, but these guys were a much better live band than they got credit for (in my opinion)



I always Felt Dokken, and White Lion were pretty far ahead of the majority of bands (of that image) at the time musically... For Obvious reasons (guitarists)

I like what Vito did with Radar Love. The whole band made it sound great.

Vito was great. It's a shame he gave up playing in a band.

I can defiantly see in the moment that there was a cheeze factor during the time they were big, but it doesn't bother me. I most certainly will watch some of the vids out there to check out his hands.

I liked Vito too! Tramp was a disaster, too bad, because Vito was great! He kinda looked like a young EVH too.

on their 3rd US release they did a couple of really cool songs, Leave Me alone and Warsong. Vito is great on those.

there is a white lion song called lets get crazy that vito just kind of goes nuts on, check that out if you can.

Yeah the fucking demos cd is good. The version of hungry is much bettter than the album cut. Out.
