Love looking at this stuff especially the audience shots of the various hairstyles, the clothes, the girls, etc.. It takes you right back to 1986. A great time to be alive!

With the lack of VH video footage, we can't really be picky. Did BTO reslly do all 106 shows of the 5150 tour? Btw, that's a massive amount of dates for a tour that didnt even go overseas.

I think I had a shirt from them that said "Half a Ton of Rock & Roll" or something like that. The ironic part is it was an XXL but shrunk down to a youth medium on the first wash. I enjoyed it 1 time.

Pretty crazy to think that BTO was not VH's first choice as opening act for the 5150 tour.
Sam and Ed Leffler wanted Sam's idol, the Godfather of Soul James Brown to be the opening act. I think Brown's management wanted $100,000 per gig, which was a ton of money back then, and they couldn't make the deal.
BTO's quite the change from JB.

And only 3 of those dates were in Canada i think. They played every market in America that would have them. Also, they played multiple nights in a bunch of markets, especially on the 2nd leg of the tour.

Ok, as promised earlier, I took a deep dive into the BTO catalogue, and oh my! I have always had the BTO greatest hits CD and the Not Fragile album, but beyond that I was not too up to speed on their stuff.

They are amazing.

Not sure, but I read they are not in the Rock and Roll hall of fame. If that's true, that is a true travesty. Randy Bachman is a true guitar hero, and his vocals are Canadianly great in the most Canadian way possible. Fred Turner's vocals are so hardcore and solid while the band has so many awesome heavy riffs. I can't believe I didn't know this until know.

Do yourself a favor and check out the whole BTO catalogue along with the 2010 Bachman-Turner release. THESE GUYS ROCK!
