Whether the Black and Smollett testifies remains an open question. But the siblings, Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, will take the witness stand where they are expected to repeat what they have told police officers and prosecutors — that they carried out the attack at Smollett’s behest.

There is some coverage out there, I've seen it on the Today show and the evening news but I think it is being overshadowed by the Ghislaine Maxwell and Elizabeth Holmes trials


And frankly most people know that Jussie Smollett lied, so a foregone conclusion is not that interesting. It is just preposterous to think that these two brothers would try to frame him or blackmail him as he claims. He wasn't exactly a rich actor so there wasn't a lot to get. He would have been so much better off pleading guilty doing a ton of community service and then working these, what? 2 years? to rebuild his reputation.

Of course Chappelle nailed it.

The MAGA hat thing, the issue of the white men confronting him and knowing who he was. That made me go hmmm. I vaguely knew who he was but only because in the 90's there was a tv show about orphaned siblings and it was unique in that the kids were all real life siblings, the Smollettes There were half a dozen of them on that show and all the entertainment shows and magazines made a big deal about it because is was an unusual thing.

But I didn't know a soul who had watched a single episode of Empire, and I only knew about it from award shows where it had been very well honored.


But the one thing that made me go HELL NO was the report that when the police arrived in his hotel or whatever it was, Jussie was still wearing the noose that he said they placed around his neck.

Who would do that? You would tear that thing off immediately. I think I believed his story for a minute because it seemed stupid for a person in the public eye to do that, but as it unravelled, I realized that he really was stupid enough to do that.

Is it over yet? Are there protesters? National Guard?

Trump should sue him for MAGA slander.

Yeah this guy shlould get the same penalty of person who actually commits a racist crime would get. He pisses on those who actually are threatended with racism and the violence that sometimes goes with it. He purposely did this. No different than some white racists planning on the torment of an African American. He should get the same penalty of an actual racist doing this crime to a person of color.

I can't believe I am saying this but some of the things that Smollette is saying on the stand are plausible. The brothers testified that they were gay friendly and had even worked as bartenders or something at a gay pride parade. But what now seems more plausible is that one of the brothers was gay and messed around a bit with Smollette but was not out to his brother. And I could see where that might be a problem

I don't think I knew that Smollette did not call the police. He called his manager and his manager called. Smollette said he was reluctant to be the gay black man who got mugged. And that he regrets the interviews he gave after but FOX network was handling things and arranged for it.

When they said that he was less than cooperative with the police, he said it was because he had gotten a text from Don Lemon who said that his sources said that the police didn't believe him, and Smollette said that is when things changed for him and he became less cooperative.

As far as the career thing, his contract had renegotiated from 25K to 100 K per episode and he was given ownership of his masters and music rights, so he was satisfied. I dont think this event would have raised his profile to the point where he could renegotiate for more, which was claimed as a motive, because he was already getting the max he could expect and more.

There was supposed to be a video shoot for which he had to be shirtless and Lee Daniels told him he was overweight so that is why he was working with those brothers on nutrition and training, and that the "help" he asked them for on the "down low" was steriods for which he paid them $3500

All that sounds plausible and most of it should be provable thru other witnesses

I don't know that this case is the slam dunk the prosecution claimed it to be.

But the guys who supposedly helped him orchestrate the hoax are black, and he said his attackers were white, correct?

So, is he saying the black guys perpetrated a homophobic attack and he lied about them being white? This makes no sense with what he has said earlier.

They were wearing masks and attacked him from behind and he went down on the ground. He assumed they were white because they called him the n word and said something about MAGA country...which is hilarious considering the attack was in Chicago..definitely NOT MAGA country. He said he still isn't sure he believes it was the Nigerian brothers


Oh and there was a security guard somewhere who shone a flashlight right at the guys who were seen running from the scene and HE thought they were white too

As for the motive that he staged the attack because he was angry that the tv production company didn't take the threat letters that he had received seriously, the production company testified that they did take it seriously and had increased set security and assigned him a body guard and driver and that he had refused it because he thought it would only bring more attention to him.
