Yep..my sons are in there early 20s, they would have no idea who they are/were if it wasn't for their old man.

And these videos are cringey as hell..I want a kid or black guy to like what I liked 35 years ago.

It's not about caring. Nobody cares. It's about seeing the excitement again that we as 13 year old experienced. We bust a nut when it's our own 13 year old kids loving our music though.

Care is a bit of a stretch. Find it entertaining? Sure, to a point. If I never see one again my life will be impacted 0%, but it's always nice to see someone eyes light up the first time they hear Sir Edward.

I can remember one of my son's was just getting into music, and I played him Eruption, and he asked "how many people is that?" and I said "one", and the look on his face I'll never forget it. We are all so jaded on here about VH, to me it's kind of cool to see someone react the way I did in 1980 in my brother's Chevelle.

And yes, I am aware many of them are faking it.

I clicked & watched a minute or so out of curiosity of one on DLR's Just Like Paradise video a couple years ago & the young lady seemed very genuine & impressed. I was surprised.

My initial reaction to watching her reaction was positive. I understand the fun factor how its a thing.

But I think her particular video was just a rare exception of the overall majority. I agree with TC' s comment about most of them being attention whores just out to score clicks or whatever.

No harm, no foul. Don't have to watch it. Just because it's labelled with the VH tag. If folks dig it & enjoy watching. Great. I'm not one of them though.

They are just ridiculously fucking stupid I can’t believe you guys are watching them. I’m a complete and utter hater and don’t get any of the interest in seeing these complete fools jizzing themselves for clicks. The cringe factor is off the charts with these things.

It’s not even entertaining it’s just stupid Plus talk about playing into some stupid racist stereotype. The whole idea of these videos from these guys is just sad.

And yeah I’ll continue to hate and make fun of them because they are super dumb.

The thing about reaction videos is that when they are legit, they remind me of the days when you would come out of the record store and pop that new cassette that just came out into your car stereo and cruise around with your friends listening to the new stuff.

First hearing of van Halen was first thing in the morning when the clock radio alarm went off. My brothers and I sitting at the breakfast table trying to figure out what we had just heard. Was that a horn section? or what? literally trying to figure out what made those sounds we just heard. A guitar? couldn't be. Multiple guitars surely. Keyboards? We thought it must be something like ELO where you've got 8 musicians.

Reaction videos bring back that kind of wonder and joy that you just don't get anymore.

One other thing- That caught my attention a few years ago which I thought was kinda cool but not sure what to do.

Around 2015 or so in the summer there was a month where I noticed 3 different young people wearing VH T Shirts.

All in White Rock in the same month. First time was in the shopping mall. Young fellow wearing the brown VH shirt with the logo & guitar & slogan Rock & Roll or whatever it was. I was surprised to see at the time & thought to myself should I go say something but realized fuck it. I mean really who cares. Big whoop.

If we stopped to say Hello to everyone we see wearing a Rolling Stones Tounge shirt are we all part of the same pack or something. I don't know. I'm 53 now so figured it would be weird to go talk to a young fella about the VH shirt he's wearing.

BUT- A week or so later saw another VH shirt at Subway a young dorky chick. Stupid unofficial cheap knokoff type of shirt. But again, surprised to see. Twixe in the same month. Thought kinda cool.

BUT- Then AGAIN, a week or so later, stuck in traffic moving at a snails pace. Look out the window & see what appears to be a homeless guy pushing a shopping cart full of crap wearing the 2007 VH '79 Tour logo shirt. Holy Fuck!

Again, I just couldn't believe my eyes. I mean what are the chances & how is this happening to me all of a sudden out of the blue like this all at once. VH shirt after VH shirt. This is in 2015. What the hell was going on back then I have no idea. I spoke to none of them but thought about it. Haven't seen anyone wearing a VH shirt since.
