Default Eddies work away from VH. What’s your fave track?

Out of all the tracks Eddie has contributed to away from VH, what do you consider his best work?
“The Water sings” from Rich Wymans album has always been mine. Since Eddie passed, I’ve grown to love it more. It has a very beautiful vibe too it, and shows Eddies more mellow side.
What is understood need not be discussed

"Dont disturb my paradise. I've asked you once. I've asked you nice" - "SERIOUS JU JU"

"I am in a blissful state. Dont bug me!!!" - Richard Dreyfuss "The Goodbye girl" 1977

I agree that the work Ed did with Rich Wyman is good stuff. I also dig the Roger Waters tune for some more mellow vibe Ed.

Here's a thread with a bunch of Ed's guests spots, if anybody's looking for more.

    Love this one!

    Joy to the World
Beauty is life when life unveils
    her holy face.

But you are life and you
    are the veil.

Beauty is eternity gazing at itself
    in a mirror.

    But you are eternity
    and you are the mirror.

    -Kahil Gibran

Lost Boys Calling is one of Ed's best solos of that time. Tasteful Sustainer use.

A nod to Respect The Wind as well, as it wasn't technically a Van Halen song, rather the only song credited to "Eddie & Alex Van Halen".

If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Have to go with Beat It. One of my favorite solos from Eddie and yes we have heard it a million times but its so good. It was done when he still had that gunslinger attitude./ Plus its imapct was pretty significant

Excellent thread topic, and I too, love "The Water Sings." But his guitar is buried in the mix; I wish that someone with audio mastery skills would remaster the song such that his guitar is brought front and center.

    1. The Wild Life

Epic "VH Level" riffing throughout this soundtrack. There must be 80 killer riffs there. (Should have really been saved for a 7th CVH recording).

DLR must have been furious that Edward used such high quality riffs for a movie backing track and not VH proper.

    2. Nicolette Larson's "Can’t Get Away From You" ... amazing.

    3. MJ's "Beat It"... amazing.

The rest I have very little interest in. Starfleet is OK, but that's about it.

I love this track! I bought the entire CD back in the day just to hear the songs Ed's on.
