I totally get artists missing the feeling of "moving air" that a loud tube amp provides but I just liken these products to using a head with an iso booth in the studio. The cab is just in some other room.

Plus 90% of people with tube amps aren't moving any air. They probably barely have the thing above 7 o'clock in their basement.

If you have nothing nice to say about Eddie Van Halen, you're at the right website. - Me (A few years ago)

"People take Van Halen much more seriously than we do" - David Lee Roth (1980's)

"I don't sit on the end of your bed while you're trying to make a living" - David Lee Roth (1988)

"For some reason people love to complain about everything. The internet has made it easy for people to do that. Shut the fuck up and get a life, or show me how good you can do it."- Edward Van Halen

"A lot of people ask me which Van Halen singer was better. You can't compare them. It's like asking which guitarist is better. Nobody is better than anybody. Every player is their own person."-Edward Van Halen

"I do like Eddie Van Halen as a player. He gets it right quite often." -Paul McCartney

I would recommend the AxeFx over the Kemper. Just select a amp/cab and you're off to the races. Add in other effects as you wish. There are SO many things you tweak on the amps in real time, and you can't do that in real life. Everything is modeled on the hardware level, acting like virtual circuits, I think.

Yes I have the powered Kemper head. I found it on shopgoodwill.com for like $600. I could not believe it was on there and so cheap.
Before this I used my Deluxe reverb for playing clean SRV, my Helix for this amazing 5150/VH1 patches, or my Marshall Super lead 100.
The Kemper is all I plug into now, it does everything I ever wanted with all my gear in one small package. It sounds just as good as anything
and everything in my opinion. I could sell all my old gear and not miss it, other than the nostalgia of seeing the vintage gear in my room.
