It just goes to the larger point, most people have no idea how to handle a firearm, and you take people with no idea about weapon safety handling live rounds.

The more we discuss, it is amazing that it hasn't happened more.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Most productions have competent specialists who deal with weapons as a job. Their only job is to handle the weapons that are on set and make sure the actors know how to use them well enough in the shot.

Also needs to be said. If Alec Baldwin wasn’t in the movie and wasn’t the one holding that gun...this is merely an accident on the back page of the newspaper and we’re not talking about it.

Doesn’t take away from the tragedy that this poor woman lost her life, but far worse accidents have happened that don’t involve guns on movie sets.

    Google Vic Morrow/Twilight Zone.

Stunts are dangerous yet they’re a part of the business and they aren’t going anywhere. Neither are prop guns and blank ammo.

No, just if they have people following around actors telling them how to say certain phrases better, why in the hell wouldn't they have the best ammo/gun people on set? What's gonna ruin the movie faster? An actor saying a word with the wrong inflection or dead crew members? Someone did not want to spend money.

No one in Hollywood, outside of Marvel, wants to spend money these days. And, actually, since the pandemic, even Marvel may be reassessing things.

But this was an indie film, I believe. So any costs were going to be minimal. One good thing that should come of this, is extra care being aimed at safety on the sets. Not saying it wasn't before, but this armorer and AD shouldn't work in Hollywood again.

Criminal charges ARE on the table in Alec Baldwin shooting case, say prosecutors - as it emerges crew were using actor's gun to shoot cans with live ammo just HOURS before tragic death on set

There was someone employed to maintain the weapons, who handed the weapon off to the AD (who was ultimately in charge of safety on set) and announced it was a "cold" gun before handing it to Alec. He should have had two levels of safety enforcement. No jury is going to convict him of anything.

I thought that it was amazing and a true test of the ethics of our media that within hours of this event, shows were not just announcing that Baldwin had been the one who misfired the gun, but that they ran thru "hot head" Baldwin stories, even dredging up the story of his verbal abuse of his daughter via her voice mail, when he called her a selfish little pig. Stunning that they were painting a picture of him as violent and having a bad temper, which was irrelevant in this situation. And now all they want to talk about is who is going to get criminally charged.

It was negligent, but it was an accident. And the negligence was on the part of the safety officers on that set.

Anybody who thought Baldwin shot these people intentionally or were trying to paint that picture should probably be wearing helmets to eat their cereal in the morning. There were more than enough details outlining that this was an accident and not a murder or manslaughter.

Now, when it comes to the AD and the armourer, thats a different story. Criminal negligence on their parts.

Well Don Jr is actively trying to make money by selling $28 t shirts that say "Guns don't kill people, Alec Baldwin kills people" which doesn't even make sense, but certainly points to the absolute heartless nature of that Trump clan. It comes in 3 styles, 4 colors and 7 sizes, so order up in time for delivery by Christmas,I guess.

A 9 year old no longer has a mother and DJTJ turns it into a fundraiser? You think they'll donate the proceeds to that family? LOL Some people don't know the meaning of shame, let alone feel it.

Don Jr is somebody who hasn't dealt with nearly enough tragedy in his life and has been protected by Daddy. He's the poster boy for somebody who's in need of a reality check.

Think if it was his Wife or his Daughter he'd be making fucking t-shirts? He might be calling Baldwin a murderer but he wouldn't be profiting off the death of his Wife or Daughter.

He's just an out of touch, spoiled piece of shit who has no empathy and who is, at the same time, taking advantage of and taking money from incredibly stupid people who think he's on their "side" and "speaks for them".
