    Yup. I haven't read the whole book yet, but in this interview they did, they present Eddie's life a bit like a mix of triumph and tragedy, with some redemption at the very end. I hadn't thought about it quite that way. For most of us born in 70s, we became aware of Ed in the 80s, where he had this image of a young dude always smiling - it fit right in with the mid-80s vibe. There was this optimism. It's definitely an adjustment (granted it started many years ago already) to have to think of Ed as this much more complex person.
    It's also sobering on a larger perspective, about this thing called life. You're number one in your field, super rich but you STILL have to deal with tons of shit. I guess you can never get a break.
