Default New story in Guitar World regarding the origins of the Frankie

New story in Guitar World about the origins of Frankie:

    https://www.guitarworld.com/features...nstein-origins

I'm pretty sure some here know as much, or more, about the Frankenstein origin story (hello Rob5150). But I saw this story on the GW site, and thought I should share here.

Its from the new Book Eruption by Brad Tolinski. My wife got it and I've been reading bits and pieces. It's every interview they ever did with Ed, but with every question and un-edited answers. Also has new interviews with Gary, Ray Daniels & I think the Mikey one is new as well! Its nuts!

It's a good article and aligns with much of what very own Jimi (Dmitri) and others (Donny Ward, Johnny B Guitars) have sorted out.

I enjoyed it for the little nuggets of information I didn't already know. Like where the '61071' neck plate came from

I leaned something from it. Which I didnít think was possible? There are never before seen by me anyway unpainted Frankie photo or photos. I have an Azusa replica body with a signed and Relicíd Frankenstein pickup in it. Now that I have the guitar I see how that Frankenstein guitar is slightly different. And itís slight. I didnít paint mine on purpose. Thatís how I want it. And as soon as I saw the above mentioned picture I went yeah. Thatís the Franky.

According to Franky Lore, Wayne Charvel and Dave Schecter made 100 Azusa bodies, using Schecter's templates,
in a garage, in one weekend.
The Franky is one of those bodies, that didn't meet the grade, and Wayne sold it to Edward as a second, for 50 bucks.
