One year ago today, we lost the great Edward Lodewijk Van Halen. He was far more than just the guitarist for our favorite band. He was truly one of the most talented and innovative musicians to ever grace planet earth. He created numerous songs and instrumentals which became the soundtrack of our lives. He brought so much joy to so many. While he has passed on to a different realm, his music will live on forever.

Let's honor the legendary Eddie Van Halen by sharing our favorite memories of him. The songs, the riffs, the solos, the intros, the outros, the breakdowns, his amazing rhythm playing, the tapping, the dive bombs, the live performances, his jaw-dropping and mind-boggling mastery of the guitar. He wasn't too shabby on the piano and keyboards, either. Please share whatever is in your heart as we remember King Edward on this difficult day.

Missing Ed everyday, but obviously today is a tough one. I was able to book tomorrow off, so tonight and tomorrow will be a VH binge-fest at my house

Was lucky enough to see VH 4 times: Sep 11, 1995 & Oct 26, 2004 with Sammy and Dec 7, 2007 & May 9, 2012 with Dave. I still cherish my memories from all of those shows (well maybe not 2004 so much lol).

I only saw them once, in 2004 with Sammy. I wish I could've seen Ed in a better days, but I'm glad I got to see him nonetheless.

My favorite part of him is his excitemnet on stage. Obviously was more energetic before the body broke down. Two favorite moments fro me was during LWAN during 5150. Him and Sammy shuffling around and he does it so effortlessly while playing. Just caught in the moment. The other is during Little Guitars at the end of the Largo and the South American shows. He is running across the stage with huge knee slides. All with that goofy smile

naturallywired, you have my sincerest and deepest condolences. So sorry to hear that.

Looking back now, as a VH fan, it kinda seems silly when I, and I know other VH fans, bitched and bellyached about those long periods when we didn't hear anything from the band. Pretty trivial now, huh?

I said it before and I'll say it again....October 6, 2020 will always be my August 16, 1977 to Elvis fans.
