Default BOBW & Highway To Hell

Silly topic for guitar 🎸 nerds , but here goes.
Ed was never shy about his love for AC/DC. If memory serves me correctly, he loved Powerage, Down Payment Blues.Ē
It occurred to me yesterday whilst listening to Highway To Hell ( song).
Did the chord, D over F sharp. , indirectly influence BOBW? When you listen and or play Best of Both Worlds, I think you can hear & feel the AC/DC vibe. I love it! Itís easily one of my fav 5150 songs.. D over F sharp is not common as far as I know. That said it sounds great & transitions to the G chord in both songs. Just a thought and Cool 😎 in my book that EVH was never shy about giving props to other guitarists. I could be wrong, just a theory.

Maybe if you slowed it down and played it backwards? Haha just kidding, but the only influence I can get is Celebration. Guys who play well might have better insight.

No offense meant to AC/DC, but most of their catalog is so fucking simple, you can easily draw lines from AC/DC songs to tons of songs by other artists.

Take Highway to Hell for example, it's really a three chord rock song in D Major.

    Yeah, there's a D/F#, D/A and Dsus4, but that's just for a little color.

There is one minor 2nd played, one time, outside of the three major chords.

Not trying to be argumentative, and I love AC/DC, but it's not hard to draw lines from three chord rock songs to other songs.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

A man's rights rests in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

I've always thought Best of Both Worlds sounded like the child of Highway to Hell and Kool and the Gang's Celebration.

BOBW is Celebration. Hands down. If you listen to the demo version of BOBW IT IS REALLY CELEBRATION because there is a riff/bridge they removed on the album version - you can sing celebration over it to a T.

I kinda think your right, I’ve been learning to play a little and I noticed the same thing, it doesn’t sound like a rip off just a little similar
