His timeline doesn't match up though according to Gary (the only member of VH known to have a history of telling the truth).

I am not a fan of him trying to cash in on his 15 minutes of fame though like this. I don't think we should expect Sass Jordan's Van Halen Experience anytime soon.

I watched some of the clips and it was very painful. I knew Mitch would suck, but surprisingly even Pete Thorn didn't sound that good, he was fucking up left and right. He butchered Eruption.

He was doing great until the tapping part, which is the easiest part to play. I'm guessing he had a brain fart.

Not sure what your definition of “butchered” is but that was pretty fucking good.

Somebody mentioned a brain fart but who cares. That Eruprion was very good for a tribute show.

Stop nitpicking everything. You don't like that Malloy put this on then fine. Just leave it at that.

I think his recollection might be overly optimistic; his timeline clashes with Gary's.

You think he would've put forth all of this effort for a one off?

    Maybe, maybe not.

Hell...I could be way off: maybe all this was, was a one time tribute to the legacy of EVH. If that's all it was, fine. My issue is that Roth is actively touring and celebrating the band's legacy; by default, he has to tour with a cover band, yet he has the legitimate right to carry VH's flag. And a guy who claims to have been the lead singer of Van Halen in 1996, is offering a duplicate effort at the same time, using mock VH logo's on his shirt, the drums, and above the drums. I see it as being somewhat disrespectful to Roth; too over the top, and too much overlap.

Had Malloy waited until Roth's conclusion, and had he not used mock VH logo's, I am sure everyone's reception would've been very different.

The irony is that neither Sam nor Dave are using the VH logo during their shows. Only shampoo model is.

LOL, he took a mulligan on the tapping part. Otherwise it sounded pretty on point.

So not only are they copying the logo, they're also doing the red, white and black stripes? While their dude is playing eruption?!? I mean they stop at nothing, these guys! Are they gonna bring in the Jack Daniels bass and the flaming gong too? Wtf?!?

It was just a special one night little club show in Florida.

No offense- But My take is you guys are hard up for something VH related to complain about & this is all you got.

" Ooooohhhh- The Horror!!! It's an Outrage!!! How dare he!!! Lord Have Mercy. The King is sacred. You are not going to get away with it. We are gonna burn you alive!!!" EVH fans.

    Hahaha.

I didn't even watch it but curious what the setlist was. I'm guessing he played his song It's The Right Time. Not much write up about it so far as I could see. Except this thread here. Haha.
