If they say no well he tried and we will likely never hear this unreleased material. Go Gary give it a shot.
The only one interested in doing this would be Gary; Alex doesn't give a damn about VH fans - he has nothing to profit from the release of unreleased material - and Wolf...overall, while he's very cool and appreciative of his fanbase, he's got a lot of animus towards Van Halen fans.

I don't get the mindset of the Van Halen family: our interest in the music is simply for the music's sake. There's simply not enough quality art in the world, and as much as EVH & AVH labored to master their craft, they had a giftedness, and a cohesion, that was extremely rare.

Gary and Nuno won't even release their own music, so thinking they're going to work up and release some 20 plus year old demos from the band that Gary was kicked out of is pie in the sky stuff.
    Dealing with it.

I agree to a point; Gary's not a showoff - it's says a lot that he's kept quiet on work that might well show him in a much better light - and in this, I refer strictly within the confines of his work in Van Halen - he's already an accomplished and talented artist with nothing to prove. However, because Gary is a genuinely nice guy, for the sake of the music, it wouldn't surprise me if he leaked stuff out to satiate VH fans.

Al has nothing to gain by releasing music, and Wolf's got animus towards us. My hopes are placed on Gary for unreleased music, or to Sam, who said he's got two tracks ready to release, or to WB. Will it happen? Probably not, but...

Nobody is releasing anything without Al's approval with Ed's guitar work on it, simply because they can't. WB might have rights to the stuff from Sunset Sound, but we've probably heard all of that in one form or another. While nice, I really don't think a clean version of Honolulu Baby is really going to move the meter that much.

Gary isn't releasing anything unless Al Ok's it. Same with Sam, same with Mike.

Wolf's way cool with fans; he's always interacting with people on FB; I like following him, and I appreciate his humble, grateful, attitude. But he's always targeting "50+ year old VH fans" for their "hate;" he loops everyone together. That's my issue.

The ongoing pandemic and no label is what I read Nuno saying is delaying the new Extreme album. It's done, in the can. It's not stopping other artists though from releasing new material. I think Extreme should just release the new stuff and start writing and working on a followup album to shed off the new studio album once every 13 years label they now have. This covid crap is gonna be around for another few years so if they want to sit on a finished album all that time it's their call. I do agree though that Gary was likely kicked out of Van Halen despite him saying he left and it was mutual. If he really did leave Van Halen on his own terms boy that takes guts.

It's likely a pie in the sky scenario for Gary to call Alex and get these demos out but I hope he does. If he doesn't though I can't blame him especially if Van Halen really did kick him out of the band. Maybe there is a beef there with Alex and Gary I don't know. Despite what anyone says, Gary, Alex, Ed, Mike we will never know what really went down 100% that ended the Cherone era of Van Halen. Only those guys know. It's just strange to be working on a follow up album and than break up like that. I never bought Gary's story.

I think one of the issues might be that VH was always very anal about not releasing stuff that was perfect. They never released demos of ANYTHING, they never released alternate versions, etc. So if what Gary has is even a tad incomplete, it won't be green-lighted. Ed thought even LWAN wasn't good enough!

If that's how Alex feels than let Gary throw those VH3 followup demos up on Youtube on their OfficiallyExtreme channel.

Yeah, I get it, "Strung Out" is a good example. Perfect stuff.

    So he says.

Call me cynical, but with Van Halen, until it's coming out of my speakers, I don't believe the hype.
