That wasn't unreleased material he was singing. Big difference. they don't care if he shows him singing DLR era stuff with Ed, Alex, Mike. Unreleased material, definitely.

Sure Gary could do it but I think he has to much class and respect for Alex. He needs to phone Alex and Wolfie and get consent to release the material. I hope he does.

I hope we hear these demos someday.

Yep, I dont think Gary would ever release VHIII follow up demos without getting Alex's permission.

It's The Right Time was officially unreleased last I checked. That's the demo I'm talking about, not his singing of covers.

It's up to Gary to give Alex a ring and see if they can release these. Obviously this is a pretty big deal unreleased Van Halen demo's. That is exactly what I would call these for an album title VHIII followup demos. Put it on Apple Music or any of the music streaming services. Unless there is something going on with the label and these demos I think it would be pretty easy to get these out.

Well than maybe it will be easy for Gary to get these demos out than if he just got Alex's permission. Mitch likely has permission of some kind.

Mitch did kind of insinuate they weren't happy with it on his first Dave & Dave Unchained podcast interview I believe it was (VH contacted him after he did that but he wouldn't get into the details). So maybe he had permission from 1999 but maybe not as much as he thought in 2016. Notice it was no longer for sale after a short period after it was officially released.

And yeah, Gary, please make the call!

Hasn't it been said that Eddie "gave" Mitch permission to use the music and create It's About Time?

    Mitch himself said that.

Ed's mental state at the time? God only knows.

Correct, but both songs were shitty, so I let it go.

Extreme has a new record that is ready to go so I had a thought of how cool would it be for Extreme to include a bonus CD of the Van Halen 3 followup demos as a tribute to Ed with their new album. Obviously Alex and Wolfie would get some royalties out of it for every CD/Vinyl Extreme sells with a bonus CD/Vinyl. Just for CD and Vinyl only, not Digital/Streaming. I love the idea but it's not likely because for Extreme it would take away all the focus off their new album. The idea is great as it would boost sales for Extreme.

Gary should call Alex though and get these demos out, it's a big deal to the Van Halen fans to hear some unreleased Van Halen after Ed's passing. This is the perfect time to get these out imo.

Which is why it likely won't happen. However I like the idea of Gary calling Alex getting permission to release these demos and Nuno and Gary work on remastering these demos for Alex and Wolf. A digital/streaming only release of these VH3 followup demos. It's definitely possible. It's all up to Gary to get the ball rolling and get in contact with Alex since he has the demos already. Nuno and Gary handling this would be so awesome. These demos are a pretty big deal and I hope Gary finds the time to get this out as a tribute to Ed. We need some unreleased Van Halen. So if Alex and Wolf don't want to deal with this let Gary and Nuno do all the dirty work which they would happily do and do a fine job of it I am sure.

Gary has the demos so it's up to Gary to call Alex or Wolf about releasing them in some capacity. It's easy to do these days. There is no right or wrong time it's about if Alex or Wolf want these demos out. I doubt Alex or Wolf will put these out for us to listen to without Gary nagging them. I hope Gary makes that call. If they say no well he tried and we will likely never hear this unreleased material. Go Gary give it a shot.

I could be wrong, but if Gary is one of the copyright holders for the music he may not need permission. But I know hed ask.
