Lol For some reason I forget how young you are compared to the majority of posters here.

    Here it is

It was ubiquitous on the radio for a few years, along with the Eagles, Dan Fogelberg, Jackson Browne, and a lot of what is currently known referred to as ‘Yacht Rock’ early adult contemporary program…Disco accelerated FM radio music faction programming.

Ed said he want to DTNA to sound like a Fleetwood Mac song but it wound up sounding more Calypso, which is not what he wanted.

Yeah, he wanted it to sound like Go Your Own Way, but I love it the way it is.

To put it in VH perspective...I was born the year OU812 came out.

Listening to the original again...that's a good tune. And still extremely different from the VH version. I dig them both.

To put that into perspective, in 1988 I was already a year into my 1st career, had a wife, a son, two car payments and a mortgage.

That was recorded pretty much live in studio too.

Epic fucking musicians. All four of them.

I don't know what the critical reaction was to Van Halen II, but I do know "You're No Good," "Dance the Night Away" and "Beautiful Girls" were all over the radio in '79 in my neck of the woods.

BG and DTNA get played on classic rock here. I'm a big fan of Bottoms Up!!, Outta Love Again and Light up the Sky, that's a crazy strong 1-2-3 punch
