Also there is speculation here that Coach Riley wasn't really for the move to the SEC. Going to be hard to compete for recruits in the southwest and south. By going west, he can attempt to keep all that talent in California, in California.

This is a huge get for USC. He runs a system that a lot of high school programs out there run. Probably going to see some California 5 star recruits, committed to OU, flip to USC.

The ND/USC rivalry will be really interesting once he gets established.
Was wondering why somebody would leave a high profile job for another.

Are you seriously comparing Oklahoma as a school to USC? There is no comparison that way. And you know how much more money USC has than OU? A lot. And I mean come on itís a little more glitzier here than in Norman Oklahoma, if heís looking for that. Which he may well be. I just think being the head coach at USC when things are good is a little more glamourous than being in Oklahoma with similar success. Just my two cents. And yes Iím completely biased. But I donít think Iím wrong.

Iím also not completely sold on this guy either so weíll see is all Iím going to say. A lot of what he had was what Bob Stoops already created and recruited, and heís still very much around the program which Iím sure helped. Now Riley is going to have to do it all on his own. I do think he will be much more successful in recruiting here in California and stop the mass exodus of players leaving here for other schools in other states. USCís is lack of consistent success since Pete Carroll left has been an issue.

Was watching a true freshman tight end play this weekend, 6'5", 240, commentators were saying he reminds everyone of Gronk, and he's from Southern California.

Decades past, that guy is playing for USC, not a SEC team. If Lincoln Riley can change that, that's a good start. The big commits to Oklahoma have already decommitted (or said they are) and committing to USC, so your recruiting class just got a lot better, at least for one year.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

I'm sure USC is the more glamourous job but my comparison was between Power 5 schools as a whole. I'm from the East Coast so USC isn't on the radar as much as it should.

When it comes to coaching gigs, I don't think OU is that far behind USC if you take where you are living out of it.

Both are great programs with long, rich histories.

But for one of them, you are living in Oklahoma, and the other you are living in Southern California. No comparison.

I think he would have been happy to stay in Norman until OU moved to the SEC, where he is going to get the shit kicked out of him more times than not.

USC is already the favorite for next year, and he hasn't done a damn thing yet. He's an impact hire.
