CaboChris is waiting on the next video thread. Should have put answers in the form of a video for the over/under rated songs thread.

I Well say Van Halen two is the most underrated. That album has so many great riffs on it plus an interesting guitar solo on the acoustic. It always gets overshadowed by the first Van Halen record, however it holds its own as a sophomore album.

Van Halen II (along with Diver Down) is also a perfect summertime album.

I think VHII is the epitome of the good time hard rock record. It just reeks of California sunshine, at least to me.

To me it is a huge advertisement for living in SoCal.

Van Halen II - I can play this album all the way through without any urge to skip a single track. It's not Van Halen I, but nothing else is.
I think this is probably the right answer.

It is. I've always said that 5150 and OU812 is the 2nd era. Anything after that is a pass for me even though I saw VH more times during the FUCK era.

Lol. Also not shocking to see who liked your post before I saw it, either.

But, hey, my disdain for that lame drivel is only rivaled by your disdain for EWS.

Overrated- FUCK. The most overrated drum sound of Al's career by a lot of people on here and elsewhere. I cringe every time I read "FUCK is the quintessential AVH drum sound. Bleh. Muddy toms on some tracks and just dry blah sounding toms on others, too much reverb pop to his snare( the classic AVH snare brown sound on both 5150 and OU812 were far superior) and even the cymbals on that album are too bright. I was really disappointed with Andy Johns on this album. And as said by everyone else, this album had more filler, or just "average", VH tunes than any album before it.

Underrated- WACF. Yep, still the GOAT hard rock album. Honorable mentions would definitely be ADKOT and VHII, though. Oh, and OU812 as well, still the best Sam era album, poor bass production not withstanding.
