The stage presence will most likely improve as the band logs more time playing together. Right now you can see them hitting their marks and taking queues from each other. They haven't really performed to an audience more than 5-6 times together. Once they get more reps in they will hopefully start playing to the audience more than each other.
Agreed. The keyboard is barely used at all. Wolf has to learn to step out more when he's not singing...especially when he's playing a guitar solo.

The nerves will always be there but will diminish with each passing show. Good for him and the boys. They'll only get better and for his first big show on his own, they sounded great.

He doesn't need to play lead, he's got two other guitarists on stage. Paul Stanley, Billy Joe Armstrong & Dave Grohl have a guitar on them at all times and are tied to a mic stand and are still frontmen. Wolf's just not a "frontman" is the issue. That's not his thing.

    They'll get better at it.

They've only played what, three live shows as a band? They got the hard part down, musicianship. Some bands never get that part down.

Enough with the keyboard. Who cares? They probably have even more limited space on the GNR stage than they do in a small club. They need to set that shit up and tear it all right back down again... they are the opener.

The keyboard is right where he needs it... when he needs it.

They have a lot more room on their GNR stage than they did at the club the other night.

But to the larger point, the keyboard isn't a distraction to me. He's not going to be running around doing high kicks anyway, just not the type of band they are.

They are more of a Cars/ZZ Top live band. They will stand in place and give you a real accurate rendition of their studio cuts.

That would be kind of cool. lol

I just like a different sort of lead singer in a band. Some people like the "stay in one place and sing/play" type. I like the showmen. I get it's different now than it was in the 80s but I'll take a guy like Luke Spiller of the Struts as a 2021 example. A ball of energy on stage that owns the stage.

It's funny because I made a comment about his stage presence during the secret shows right before I saw these clips as I was worried about how it would translate. Thankfully his presence was better for this gig, but I still understand people's concerns. I do think they will get better as Wolf becomes more comfortable being the guy as opposed to the talented backup singer and bass player.

Anyway, when I saw him play a couple of those solos I thought "that's the best guitar playing that audience is going to see tonight." Great job Wolf!

Looks like the show was pro-shot (I see a guy with a huge camera up near the stage in some of the audience posted video)

Somebody said something in the other thread about their stage attire being all black and stereotypical for rock stars these days.

Is it just me or do these guys disappear on the stage from time to time? Black outfits, black stage, black cabinets, black video board....

Maybe Wolf could wear a yellow scarf or hang a bandana from his pocket or something, lol.

When I watch Mammoth I think they should model their stage show after Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl is great, and it's not necessarily about jumping around all night long, it's about having energy between songs, hyping the crowd, and walking around with the swagger of knowing everyone is watching you.

Wolf isn't that guy, but then again neither was his Dad when he started playing either. It took some years and some pressure from his lead singer for Ed to become the showman he did. My advice to Wolf would be for him to scream into that mic between songs like it can't pick up his voice at a speaking level. His voice is more than powerful enough when he sings, so he clearly has the ability, he just needs to extend that mojo between songs.
