I know this is an insanely late reply, but I’d like to see him have a keys set up more like Geddy Lee had, with one mic on its own and another set up to the side with the keys.
    I'm just here.

Let’s face it 99% of the people here who are listening to and loving this album gave it a chance and are loving it because it was Wolf.

The songs are still very good. This isn’t a slight against Wolf at all. But if this was Creed or Alter Bridge with the exact same songs most people here wouldn’t be talking about the album regardless of how good the songs were.

I actually like, enjoy, and appreciate Wolf's music; my enthusiasm to his music is second only to Van Halen coming out with a new album.

I'm also someone who "roots for the underdog," and while Wolf's no underdog, he showed that he can stand on his own. I respect him for that.

All that said, you're right: I wouldn't have even given his music a chance, if not for his surname.
Our hearts' are with you Wolf, Al, and Janie; blessings upon you all.

    Neither would I have.

Not because I don’t like rock music past a certain point, but I just don’t keep tabs on a lot of the new indie rock acts out there.

Now if he was playing blues music, I probably would have checked him out regardless of his name.

Default Wolfgang VH Secret Concert before GNR tour tonight!

I saw GNR live back in the day three times when they were actually relevant and I don’t have a need to see them again. They were always fucked up, they were always late, and they were always out of tune. It was never a good show. Axl would blow his voice out after six songs and that would be that. I was at that famous show at the LA Coliseum with the Rolling Stones in ‘89 where Axl stormed off stage saying people in this band are partying too much with Mr. Brownstone or some shit like that. Yeah he eventually came back to the stage and finished the show, but it was like what the fuck is going on. Always some fucking drama with these guys.

I have absolutely zero desire to see those guys now especially with people in the band that have no connection to the music that I liked anyway. I don’t care how good of a show they put on.

Default Wolfgang VH Secret Concert before GNR tour tonight!

I can safely say that those three concerts I saw of GNR were easily the worst concerts I’ve ever seen from a band of that popularity and level. My band could’ve played some of their songs better.

I’m almost embarrassed to tell you guys how big of a fan I was when they were big in the late 80s and early 90’s. I mean I think I liked them more than Van Halen for a stretch. I can’t even believe that now looking back. I mean I was one of those idiots you might’ve seen on MTV in 1991 waiting in line for six hours at Tower Records in Hollywood to get those Use Your Ilusion albums at midnight.

I will say it was cool to meet Slash at the local bowling alley where of course I bowled out of because I was a pro at the time. Actually it was a couple years before I turned pro, but I basically lived bowling then. This was like ‘92. Walked into the bar and talked to him a little bit with my mother if you can believe that and he signed of my Les Pauls that I eventually sold and turned into my EBMM. Slash was actually very cool especially for a guy that was probably as popular as he’d ever be, and in the end it got me something related to Van Halen.

If you’re asking why would Slash be in a bowling alley bar, we’ll they started having actually fairly big local bands play there in an attempt to grow the bar business, and all of a sudden all these famous rocker dudes were hanging out. It was pretty cool. A lot of them lived fairly close by in Calabasas and so forth so they’d be there. It became like a hang out like the Rainbow for a while it was really pretty crazy for a local bowling alley.

Look at my post I re-edited it. There were other famous guys that used to hang out for a time too. Steve Vai came in a couple times for a few shows.

When they would come out of the bar some of these guys would sit and watch the people bowling. Not tooting my own horn but look I was pretty good, so guys would wander by and sit and watch me. Sometimes they talked to me a little bit and asked me how I got so good and so forth. I know some of them were famous, but I just don’t remember what bands they were from. Guys from Great White and Slaughter I know would hang there. But yes Slash sat and actually watched me bowl for a few minutes and said dude you’re good. Definitely a weird time.
