Yes he was probably asked the question but how about this?

"Hey said interviewer. I will sit and talk to you but I will not answer questions about Dave. While I don't like the guy, think my era was better and think he is a dick, out of the spirit of Eddie's passing, I am done trying to pit the eras against each other. I have my era and will answer questions about that. I will talk about Eddie's passing and my reconnection. I will anwer questions about Montrose, my solo carear, CF and The Circle. I will tell you if Mona has a pelt or is as smooth as a turtles shell. However lets just keep the antimosity between me and Dave at a minimum"

If Dave can tell Joe Rogan that he will not answer questions about Eddie, I think Sammy could tell an interviewer lets not try to pit the eras against each other.

Not picking a side. I just think with Van Halen lets just move on.

The next time Dave sings CVH on stage it will be with his own band or with Al and Wolf in a tribute, and Sam will be the one on the outside graciously receiving the invitation.

I don't know how Sam could upstage Dave if Sam's singing back-up while Dave is singing lead. The old proposal, coming from Sam, was "hey, let's pick a cover tune and sing it together."

Now, THAT I could not really see Dave doing, as he doesn't really jam cover songs. He'll do YRGM and PW, but that's about it. But Dave doing Panama, with Sam and Mike just doing the choruses, musically, it could totally work.

The politics of it, that's another story. It would certainly get headlines.

The day Ed died is the day I stopped listening to Wolf, Sam, Mike, or Dave. Couldn't care less what they do or say.
