    2) Unfinished songs or songs without vocals. I don't think anyone will want to open this can of worms.

    3) Instrumental ideas. I think Wolf could curate a record with Ed instrumentals. After all, that's what Ted Templeman did back in the day, bringing to life Eruption and Spanish Fly. It would be a shame for an all-instrumental EVH album not to see the light of day.

I think a record with "In The Midnight Hour," "Out Of The Ether," etc, should also come out. I don't think their last record out should be Tokyo Dome. They need a better bookend to their mighty legacy.
Brian Kehew said in his interview at Sunset Sound that when he worked on unreleased VH material for WB, they ended up with 4 cds of releasable material that WB was going to take to the brothers. Now, as I understand it, this is all stuff from WB's vault and not anything from 5150 and is owned by WB. Unless Ed and Al had something written into a contract which gave them full control over any releases, WB may be able to release these 4 cds without Al's consent. I think they'd rather have Al's blessing though, to give it legitimacy as a Legacy release.

I'm sure it doesn't exist, but I'd love to hear a demo song where the there are two versions - one with Dave's lyrics and vocals and one with Sam's. Wouldn't that be a trip? Still, after all the years, there could maybe something close to that. Maybe not.

Iím sure several demo versions of a lot of songs from 1996 on have multiple singers on them.
Thatís the last thing VH needs is to release 3 versions of the same song with a different singer.

The music for Can't Get This Stuff No More was a leftover track from Balance called Backdoor Shuffle. I wonder if Sammy did any vocals for that.

Iíd be interested in hearing that.

Did Dave ever hear Summer Nights or, say, Good Enough?

Iím sure he heard parts of em in the studio.

I still think the closest Sam ever came to capturing Daveís cadence and his rhythm was on Good Enough. I can hear Dave singing those lyrics with that vocal melody.

Iím not sure thereís another Hagar era song where I can say that.

Don't know for sure, but I read that Sam had lyrics and came up with the melody for the song. All the new Best of tracks should have been three new songs on a Sammy fronted album.

Thank God the real original Mighty Van Halen recorded MWM and CGTSNM for the Best Of. Two stellar tracks and a return to form for the band, with possibly the best production of their career.

I wonder if the original band ever did a proper studio recording of Summertime Blues? As far as I'm concerned, CVH owned that tune. Even superior to the Who's awesome version.

Summertime Blues would have been perfect on Diver Down and MUCH better on that album than DITS or PW.

Oh I'm sure their is a demo recording of Backdoor Shuffle with Sammy on vocals. They might as well burn it though, legally I can't imagine it could see light of day.
