Thanks brother; appreciate that...had no idea someone else on the Links lived near by! It was sporadic....literally three houses down from me not a drop; we have 4 - 5 feet while my neighbor on one side had a full basement (8ft) and some seeping into the main floor.

    Situation is terrible.

I am fine for now...like I said I have one shitty survivor and the Yamaha to suffice........

It's loud enough for gigs, portable enough to take to brief jams, and compact enough to not take up too much space in my office.

Of course the combos are nice because of the reverb and power scaling. I just haven't been big on combos during my guitar playing career. No clue why.
Thanks for the reply Jedi...always respect your opinion. Never thought about a 50W with 1x12 vs 2x12; in my head a full sized head goes with a 2x12 or more....interesting. My only concern is for simplicity then I need to have a JHS black box in the loop or some sort of attenuator in order to have tone at a reasonable level; I just figured either a LBX with the power switch or combo with the scaling would be ideal.

I had an original 5153 1x12 6LC combo when they first came out and at the time enjoyed it....I regret making the change but that is what basement guitar heroes do no? I am never going to gig or anything like that...not good enough and never will be. I play for fun and enjoyment only but getting the right tone is very important to me.

Found a local that has a 5153 6L6 2x12 combo but prior to the updates with concentric knobs. That update applies to the older combos as well correct?

Anyone have the JF Rocks VH stuff they could share with me? Confirmed they no longer have it in the vaults.
