Thanks...he did; they are offering 5k - 2.5k deductible.....we are basically being told that is the best we are going to get. After it will be between a class action against the city and FEMA.

Same things my parents went through in 2016...the class action is still on-going and they received $500 from FEMA.

    Total bs.

I would never put equipment in an area that had any chance of flooding.

    Good luck.

Wow! Sorry to read this and just want to wish you well.

I saw the thread title a week or two ago and thought you just might have only messed up a finish on a guitar or something.

I keep my equipment in my basement. I have a sump pump, and I have it on a riser (converted movie room). But if my basement flooded to more than six inches, I'd be F'd.

I lived in a house in another state about 18 years ago that would have water issues in the basement on occasion. We had a sump pump. I would keep my equipment on the first floor. Even if the flooding isn't that bad it's still creates a lot of moisture in the room which is not good. I sealed the walls inside and around the outside of the foundation and did all this shit and it still never completely stopped it.

I sold the house, it just got old dealing with that and some other issues. I have zero water issues in the place I'm in now.

My basement hasn't flooded in 21 years living here, so I would think that unless there is a 100 year flood event, I'm good.

Sorry again to hear this.Just spent a grand to basically jury rig my leak. The water runs down the block still during thunderstorms but now into the existing sump not out on the floor. I'm going to live with this and not have to take out a loan for a major excavation only to have it not work or return in a few years. I just pray it does not get even worse.

Mine was fine for 32 years with a sump system already in place. Did all the things cleaned gutters , gutter extensions, etc. Then it showed up.

So as time ticks on and we are getting back on our feet I am starting to consider putting a new rig together again. A dear friend sold me his Yamaha THR10x for cheap and I managed to clean up the least soaked/damaged guitar and surprisingly it plays (with the rusted floyd) but it is what I haver for now.

Thinking ahead I am considering the following:

    Another EVH EL34 50W with 2x12 cab

    EVH EL34 combo (either 1x12 or 2x12)

    EVH LBX-S with 1x12

I have been watching a lot of vids...part of me thinks forget replacing what I had despite it being my favorite and longest tenure rig...go simpler with 2 or 3. I like 2 because of built in reverb and power scaling but man they are heavy.

    Thoughts?

Are you against a 50w head + matching 1x12 cab? That's what I've got and I couldn't be happier. Downsized from the 100w head with an oversized 2x12 and haven't looked back. It's loud enough for gigs, portable enough to take to brief jams, and compact enough to not take up too much space in my office.

Of course the combos are nice because of the reverb and power scaling. I just haven't been big on combos during my guitar playing career. No clue why.

RVK, I live in the same area and our street was flooded both times. Luckily we had no backflow into our basement, and I mean REALLY LUCKY, our friends' on the next block got 4 feet of sewage water in their basement and about $15k in damage. All of my guitars and gear are in the basement too, so thank God we were spared. If you need anything to borrow in the meantime, private message me.
