Always with the backhanded insults. And I was waiting for you to say that the '96 show was great and you didn't want to tarnish a fun memory with what they are now. Should have known better. Cool... you hate Kiss but still take a free ticket from someone who might really like to see the show.

Amen! KISS is the only concert that I ever walked out of. Saw them in 2000, I think. The original line-up. My cousin and I went because we'd seen everybody and figured, might as well. How bad could it be? If someone explained it to me, I wouldn't understand how KISS has a career. I will never get it, and I'm great with that.

    This still pisses me off.

How hard would it have been for Bozo to say, “I regret telling the world Ed’s business. At a time when he needed a friend the most, I chose to exploit him. I should never have done that. So I’ll just choose to remember the good times we had and leave it at that. RIP Ed.”

Dave and Ed may not have been best friends or friends at all but there’s no denying the mutual respect and brotherhood they shared knowing they conquered the world together.

    Sam? Meh.

Iím embarrassed that my favorite band of all time is still kind of linked to Sammy Hagar just a little bit. That ďguyĒ is just embarrassing. Those recents comments show who he truly is

I'm seeing Sammy in August at the ILLINOIS STATE FAIR for $45.00

I'll stand in line about 3 hours before showtime and I'll end up front and center. Worked for me last time he was there

Just another means to garner press attention for Sam's latest tour, project, album, business venture, etc....Same old playbook he's been using since 1985. And why not, it seems to work.

sorry about what unsaid about Ed- but now lemme go over here and talk shit about Dave

if heís sorry and wants to genuinely apologize publicly about airing out Edís private life I get that- but he can never just put a period on it. And I think thatís what most frustrating to those of us who post here and likely others who arenít here.

This, in a strange way, makes me feel somewhat glad that kitchen sink tour didnít happen. Now Iím not saying Iím glad Eddie died- Iím still not over it. But I am saying I think it would have been this phony smile fake it til you make it bullshit show and likely would have translated on stage.

    Ed and Sam
Made peace which is important. Dave and al appear to stay in touch. Wolf is launching his career. Sam and Dave and Mike still carrying the torch.

Canít everyone just play and stfu?

Iím about to go off on a tangent but Iím gonna stop

The thing is, Sam doesn't know Dave.

He knows enough of him to not like him, fine. Dave has made no bones about not liking Sam. It's a mutual dislike.

But Sam went personal on a guy he doesn't know, that he's ever been in a band with, in the same interview he is apologizing for things he said about Ed. As far as I can tell, most people that have worked with DLR have favorable things to say about him, including some of the nicest guys in the business. Just don't understand why at this point, with Ed dead, they just can't be "I really don't like him, he really doesn't like me, but I respect him as an artist and what he accomplished in Van Halen" and leave it at that.

Edit: and yes, insomnia is a bitch.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!
