    Default Eddie's Stage Clothes

We have all seen a ton of Eddie's guitar gear being bought, sold, and auctioned over the years but has anyone seen any of Ed's stage clothing being collected anywhere? I know he was more of a jeans a t-shirt guy on the late tours but wondering if the stuff he wore earlier in his career ever made the rounds. Things like his overall's from 82 or the patched jeans from 84. My guess is he probably just dumped all that stuff but it would be cool to see that stuff resurface.

in Houston back in the late 80's, we had an annual Rock KLOL Rock'n'Roll auction. It was pretty awesome,
they would have several special guest to auction off authentic 'Rock' memorabilia donated by other musicians.. One year they had
a box of Eddie's tank tops from the 5150 and 0U812 tours. There were several of them, various colors in a box, sold to one bidder.

Wow that's interesting. Wonder where those are today. I'm in no way into buying or selling any of this stuff but I bet his tank and pink pants for Live Without a Net would be worth something.

I was thinking of these sneakers that he wore a lot in 91/92 and brought back in 2004. Wonder if they are locked away in 5150.

I don't think that Ed was very nostalgic..or thinking much about that stuff. Dave? I bet he has all kinds of stuff in a climate controlled storage unit LOL. He was much more aware of image and all the trappings and much more interested in the history of entertainment

I do hope at some point the RRHOF will have lets say the striped overalls or something of his on display. I imagine though that the stuff was thrown away at some point when Valerie wanted to do some spring cleaning.

I could have sworn I saw the overalls in the background in an interview or photo since Dave was back in the band. I remember distinctly thinking it would be funny for Ed to come on stage just one time with them on. At the time he would easily have fit in them.

Wow! I hadnt thought of the "Frankenoveralls!" I'd love to know where that is! Someone ask Wolf!
Crowds wouldve blown the roof off if he wouldve appeared in those!
June. 1984. Kemper Arena. Kansas City, Mo. My very first concert. The lights go out. The spotlights rotate over the crowd while a wailing guitar overtakes the screams and cheers. The opening riff of "Unchained" begins as a lone spotlight illuminates Eddie Van Halen. By himself. I was never the same after that.

What got me, and I've posted about this before, is the dressed up look during the VHIII tour. Ed and Gary sometimes looked like they were going to a wedding reception or church function after the show. Long sleeved pullover shirt, slacks, suits.

Yep. That outfit Ed wore on that tour still puzzles me with the pleated slacks, etc. Not quite sure what look he was going for. Looks like you’re a KC guy. Were you at the Sandstone show in ‘98? It was hot as balls out that night. How Gary was wearing black long sleeve suit & pants without having heat stroke is beyond me..

    Ed always liked fancy shoes.

"If you ever speak to me like that again, you better be wearing a cup" - EVH, 1996

"Stupid neighbors called the cops/Now the party's over/Angry housewife wants my name/Tell her it's 'Ben Dover"

Sammy Hagar made Van Halen even better. Deal with it.

As the VH3 tour went on Ed changed back to the shorts , white tank top and striped basket ball boots.
