I spit out my drink when I saw the post but appreciate satire.

Similar situation with VH. Neil Peart was the core of Rush and the best at what he did. Can't tour as Rush without him.

I'd maybe go to a Geddy/Alex concert if it wasn't called Rush and had a drummer that wasn't anywhere near Neil Peart. Wouldn't want someone who plays note for note like Neil. I also wouldn't spend much for that concert. I also haven't gone to any Sam/Mike concerts but would if very convenient which they never are.

That would work. Lukather said he has tried to get Alex to come out and jam. I've said I'd love to see Lukather, Al, and Billy Sheehan, but Geddy would be badass too.

Yes! I would love an Alex Van Halen/Lukather Supergroup even more with Billy Sheehan. Billy is my favorite bass player. But Geddy is up there as well.

It would be nice... but with his entire life and musical career anchored to Edward exclusively... I doubt we'll see him perform again.

My crazy thought? First off I think Alex with any involvement in anything RUSH related would be a very bad idea. I don't prescribe to the Neil Peart is GOD theory as I loved him for RUSH and I think Alex is a completely different feel. Alex is also my guy but IMO there is no best. people are all different and bring different things to the bands they are in.

My thought, which some may hate, is that Gregg Bissonette has to leave the Ringo's all Starr band because he's been secretly working with Dave (who has been working with a vocal trainer) to get the original EEAS band back together. Alex is good buddies with Luke and takes Gregg's spot in the upcoming All Starr tour. It's a low key low pressure gig for Alex as he and Eddie loved the Beatles and Alex would fit right in with those guys. It's also a beautiful promotional opportunity for Ludwig as Ringo and Alex are top endorsers. Alex does the gig on a set no larger than his 1991 chrome set (as the SS Alex is not needed) and we get two great opportunities to see two great bands.

I love RUSH and of course VH but I have no desire to ever hear Alex play a RUSH tune and I doubt he would ever even want to play one.

There is and we've been through this before, but to be honest, I have no desire to look it up.

VH's road crew ran up a huge bar tab on RUSH's bill at a hotel, and Eddie and Geddy Lee got into it a little bit once. That's it.
