Default Which Of Wolf's Songs Will Likely Be A Classic Years From Now?

I am not a musician, although some of y'all are. Wolf, and a few other posters, have spoken about his multi layered approach; give songs a few listens, and you will hear things that you didn't hear the first go round. To be honest, I am not hearing it. Then again, I don't have the ears of a musician.

I am totally floored by Wolfs' album; it's the first album I have gotten excited about since ADKOT. For although his music doesn't fit my early to mid 80's tastes, his album is that good. And his singing is so good that, given time, I think that he will earn his place in history as being one of rock's most diverse singers; I think he's that good.

Out of the selection of songs on the album, aside from 'Distance', which one of Wolf's songs do you think is destined to be a classic? For me, I think 'Resolve' is the song that will be played, years from now.
"It wasn't Ed's playing that inspired me, it was his spirit. The playing was merely a manifestation of that spirit." - Speedway

I am enjoying Wolf's album very much...Mr Ed is one of my favorites, but I don't see much of any modern music being "classic." With the way music is turned out nowadays there isn't much room for it to last forever on rock radio or the public conscience. The only one that would stand a chance of being remembered 10 years from now is probably Distance and that it due to why it was released. IMO.
Rest in Peace Edward Van Halen

Sadly, I don't think it works that way anymore. Seems only the "classics" are the classics.

"Distance" may be as close to 'classic' as Wolf gets. I hope I'm wrong and he has several songs that many years from now are considered classics.

Love the album, but to be honest...none.

    It's just a different time.

Are these songs getting radio play? I haven't heard one on my local fm rock station and they actually play a pretty good mix of old and new

I agree. I like the album but I don't think any of the songs are going to be considered classics. Heck how many off ADKOT would be considered classics? Or a CF song?

Then again who knows what Classic radio is going to sound like 30 years from now. Billie Eilish may be classic rock

Van Halen is a RRHOF band, a legacy act, with some of the greatest rock musicians of all time in it, and they released an album that reached #2 as a hard rock album in 2012, a dead genre, and it got almost zero airplay on rock stations.

Outside of places that use actual DJ's, it's more than likely not going to get much play unfortunately.

If I was a DJ on an old fashioned radio station that played new releases every week... I'd mix Feel... and Circles into the playlist that is always rotating old and new shit from all bands great and small.

Wolf's lyrics are a bit bleak. But both tunes could us some cheery, hooky harmonies. He'll get there. My listeners will start requesting those two tunes and my program director adds them to the HOT 100!

I was just curious if it was getting airplay anywhere with the more modern sound. But yeah, Adkot got zero play here. I think the local station here is cumulus, there's a good chance if you turn it on Back in Black will be on

The classics for me (ones that I will add to multiple playlists for my personal listening pleasure) are Mammoth and Feel. Those two have surfaced as the stand-out tracks for me. Maybe Epiphany, but not yet...
