Default New Mammoth WVH song As Long As You're Not You

    Mammoth WVH -
As Long As You’re Not You
    Cleveland, 8-7-21

Didn't want this to get buried in the tour thread
Beauty is life when life unveils
    her holy face.

But you are life and you
    are the veil.

Beauty is eternity gazing at itself
    in a mirror.

    But you are eternity
    and you are the mirror.

    -Kahil Gibran

Punk rock feel to it. Not bad after the first listen.

Wonder if they are writing while on the road or if that is a leftover.

I thought it was a leftover. Didn't Wolf mention this song somewhere before? I know I've heard that title before. Probably in these threads somewhere.

It was on the setlist for the first night.

Remember, Wolf recorded 28 tunes in the years leading up to this release. He's sitting on a potential second album worth of material.

    2 Cents:

I hope he doesn't get boggled down thinking he has to release that for his follow up if his creative ideas keep going. Mix it up with some newer writing and some completed paintings - than keep some of those completed songs in his back pocket for Volume 3.

That's basically exactly what he said he was going to do in an interview.

Honestly it's not dissimilar from what Ed did. Tunes from the original demos got milked for 6 albums. Ideas or riffs got resurrected decades later. There ain't a shelf life on a good idea.

Just curious if he has mentioned writing with his new band, has he said anything about that?

Wondering if he is going to go the Foo Fighters route, or more like Prince. Not that it matters, whatever makes the man happy.

Seems like he's going the Prince route. He said he's open to working with a band in the future, but found the writing/recording process too much fun. Sounds like he's still got gas in the tank for the one man show in the studio.

Wolf can write decent songs, which puts him ahead of 95% of today's "recording artists" ...

"The truth sounds like hate to those who hate the truth" - Todd Wagner

I've got plenty of ideas and no time to work on them.

In January I bought a Two Notes Captor in hopes that a "silent" recording set up would afford me the ability to start working out all the riffs or demos I've got. It hasn't happened yet. I just got my Peavey Wolfgang back from getting a Stainless Steel refret. Maybe I'll use that as an excuse to write/record.

    Word..,

I would enjoy this album if his last name McFly and, yes, he is following the footprints of early VH
