I know it's been said, but I'm most impressed with his singing ability, I think we all knew he could play the instruments

Boring, really boring. Wolf has (perhaps) talent, but i don't see it specially in this album.
I admit that I was not expecting him in this kind of neo metal/rock/FM that dozens of other groups have been practicing for 20 years.

Their first album was released way back in the early 2000's...Maybe 2003? And they toured in between Phish projects/dates and the various bands Les Claypool was in. Then they sort of were on hiatus for many years with rumors every so often that they were getting back together. This went on for years and suddenly I happened to be checking out the Peach fest line up for this summer and low and behold they are headlining it!

I could be wrong, but I think they only have one maybe two albums. But their most played song is called, you guessed it, "Oyster Head."
"People say Cream gave birth to Heavy Metal," says Baker. "If that's so, we should have had an abortion."

After the few tracks that were released, the album is exactly what I thought it would be. Really good modern rock music. It's not ground breaking or anything like VH at all, just good solid rock songs with a few rippers thrown in.

They did a great job of piping in his vocals.

What would be an indicator of Ďtalentí to you?

The music isnít exactly what I listen to regularly, but Iím not sure how anybody can listen to this album and not think heís extremely talented.

I'm with EVH in that this is my favorite song on the album ...

"It's so lonely at the top because it's so crowded at the bottom" - Diamond David Lee Roth

"The truth sounds like hate to those who hate the truth" - Todd Wagner

"Women and Children First ... The REAL Van Halen III"

    Perhaps?

He wrote and performed an entire rock album. How many people have done that successfully? The answer is "not many".

Not liking the music, cool, I get that, that's subjective.

Whether or not he is talented is not on the table. He can sing, write and play multiple instruments. That's called talent.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

A man's rights rests in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box

    It's a great first record, I think.
Yeah, this was never gonna be VHI, or have any timeless songs ( RWTD, Panama...) but it's really good. As mentioned, there's not a bad song on it.

Really gonna be interesting what he's doing four or five records in. Could be some ""timeless" things coming.

I like his late 90's influences, so, musically I was probably always going to like it. The vocals were the question and he hit a home run there.

Resolve, Mr. Ed, Horribly Right....my favs.

I love the album. Wolf has done a great job and i love the photo on the back of the album, a subtle nod the VH1.

Letís hear your album where you played every single instrument.

Strangely, youíre confused for some reason on whether he has talent or not, so let me help you out. Yes he does.

I can dig it if one doesn't like the music. However he is talented. No question. If you can play several instruments you are talented. Regardless if you have an album or not. To create songs takes talent. To be able to write lyrics and attach them to melody that at times are catchy is a talent.

Day 3 of the album and I still dig the album. Yeah if his name didn't end with Van Halen I may not even have given it a listen. However I am invested. No different than others are with Sammy and his projects. I imagine some people wouldn't be following his career had he never been in VH. Obviously if you were a Sam fan before, you would but I don't know if in 2021, The Circle would be giving one a rise if two guys were not in VH. Just based on the music. However you are emotionally invested and its fine. Its what ties you into music

    Anyway still impressed by Wolfgang.
