Was this poll based on The Big Lebowski? LOL

The Dude hates the fuckin' Eagles, man.

But, I actually gave them the edge here. Love CCR, though.

    CCR, by default.

Only thing I like about Eagles is Joe Walsh & he alone isn't enough to save them for me.

The Eagles, hands down. Frey and Henley were like Lennon and McCartney.
    I miss Eddie Van Halen.

    Really?

Fogerty was cranking out hit after hit, head to head with Lennon & McCartney.

Proud Mary, Run from the Jungle, Bad Moon Rising, Fortunate Son, Lodi, Green River, Down on the Corner, Travelin’ Band, Up Around the Bend, Lookin’ Out My Backdoor, Hey Tonight, As Long As I Can See The Light, Who’ll Stop the Rain, Have You Ever Seen the Rain.

In six albums from 1968 to 1972…three of them released in 1969 and two in 1970….some of the original releases are almost Greatest Hits packages.

For whatever reason, CCR is often overlooked…and they shouldn’t be.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the Eagles, not all of it, but quite a bit…but CCR was a juggernaut.

It’s really all that cut and dry of a choice for me.

    This.

I give a slight edge to the Eagles due to the vocal harmony, but CCR was as you say, a juggernaut. Their deep album cuts are damn good too, they weren't just a singles band either.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I love both and don't understand the comparison... especially considering the years put in by each band for what they got done... and membership. Two dogs that don't need the fight.

Three Dog Night sold more albums than CCR. Almost 3 times more.

CCR by a country mile. Never understood the worship for the Eagles. Bleh. Except for Tequila Sunrise. That's a really good tune.

Kidding me? The Eagles have more hits than Ike Turner at a family reunion.
