I'm the same. I really need my arm twisted to listen to anything new. I wasn't even going to bother here, but damn! that rocked! really grabs you right from the start! So glad he was able to deliver some kick ass music to silence the critics!

The sound is powerful but the main riff is incredibly poor There is no hook in the melody too.
Another time, not convinced by Wolf !

I don't like new music but I do like this. I am not too ashamed to say its because he has his dad's dna in him. Its ok. I don't think I would listen to new DLR or Sammy songs if they had never played with Eddie either.

If this was actually live with no overdubs post, its really solid. I assume it is and if it is, GNR fans will be in for a treat. Its interesting to think about how people said Wolfgang needed to pay his dues and playing in VH was kind of like that. That prepped him for what is to come

I have only one grip about the video, heís playing an ES-335. Now he is his own man. No doubt. But A. Iím sure that is an original that is probably fucking priceless and B. He is now a part owner of EVHGear. Chip Ellis couldnít have got jiggy at the custom shop at fender for him?

All his songs have been stellar so far.

If itís a late 50ís - early 60ís 335, itís valuable but itís far from priceless. Nonetheless, I get what you mean.

The fact Eddie owned it might bump up the $, but Wolf doesnít give a shit, if heís not selling it.

I say play it. Itís not mint. Thatís what theyíre there for. Not to sit in some vault.

Now, if it was a squeaky-mint 58í Explorer (which I think Ed owned at one point), Iíd agree with you. That belongs in a vault.

Third guitarist in the back is a flex musician. Acoustic, electric, keys, or whatever extra instrument a tune may call for.

Something VH live could have used a few times during the Sammy years. Not meant in a bad way... but real, live keys and piano every tour would have been nice.

Completely agree....I never understood why VH piped in keyboards on certain songs. Just bring out a capable musician and let him/her play the instrument live when needed. It's not like they couldn't afford it.

If Iím not mistaken that is one of the first Flying V prototypes and there were only 12 made that year or something. And it is actually a korina guitar.

    Itís fucking SWEET!!!

Not to mention that Eddie had almost every guitar made. 59 LPís, ES-335ís, 50ís strats, everything.

    I want the ripley.

Pretty sure they had a keyboard player backstage on the Balance tour, maybe the III tour as well. Or maybe it was the 2004 tour. It's been discussed on here before, I think it may have been somebody like Jedi who remembered what the guy's name was.

Either way, using a sequencer for the keys was no different than what Pete Townshend did for so many years with the Who. Having Pete and Ed playing guitar live beats watching them stand behind a keyboard up onstage.

Yup. All 58-59í Flying Vís were Korina. Less than 100 were made.

If the one Ed owned was a prototype than itís easily worth a million.

Those Les Pauls in that picture appear to be Bursts, as well.

Yeah the original release of the Flying V was a pretty big flop. Thatís why those early models are so rare and so expensive.
