Same here...I got the impression that Al now owns the entire entity known as Van Halen
once shared equally with Ed....That includes the masters and whatever other assets included in the corporation.

As far as Ed’s portion of publishing, those were most likely owned by Ed separate from the corporate entity know as Van Halen and probably willed to Wolfgang as part of Ed’s individual estate. That’s my guess anyway....

As far as Janie is concerned, I’m sure she’s been taken care of financially for the rest of her life. No way Ed doesn’t make sure of this...

The bond between Ed and Al reminds me of my father and uncle. Both immigrants who worked at the same job for over 30 years and then began their own business together afterward and are still working side by side. When I was younger, my family and my uncle’s family would vacation together. So I totally get how tight the relationship was between Ed and Al.

Yeah, this was a great interview..

Ed left a decent chunk to the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. Giving back to the kids...

Thinking about giving it all to Al makes sense in a way. Al didn't have the extra income that Eddie has received over the years with instrument deals. EVH brand will still live on for the time being and I am sure even if Fender drops it, somebody else will want to make guitars to Eddie's previous specs. Therefore Wolfgang has that. Plus 5150 which that and the stuff inside is probably priceless to a degree. Remember that Eddie also was an avid guitar collector.

Anyway I do wonder about Janie but I am sure she was taken care of. While Eddie didn't have Sam F U money, his estate was in decent shape. Plus he had time to sort everything out financially so its probably pretty cut and dry

According to Celebrity Net Worth (and I have NO idea how reliable that is) he was worth around $100m at the time of his passing - that's pretty F U money in my eyes !!

Yeah you are right. I just checked Sammy on that site (obviously who knows how accurate) but they show him worth 150 million. I thought Sammy may have been 200-300 million due to Cabo Wabo sale. They are actually closer to so I guess both had FU Money. Must be nice

Default New Washington Post Interview with Wolfgang

Every single member of VH with exception of Mark Stone and Gary, has ‘fuck you’ money.

    Mike is worth $70 million.

If that’s not ‘fuck you’ money, then some people here have much bigger expenses than I.

That was actually quite sad to read. It's a shame that this moment for Wolf, which for every reason should be his coming out party and a giant middle finger to anyone that ever questioned his abilities, is so bittersweet and overshadowed in a way by his grief and thoughts about what could have been.

I can't believe some of the crap that people give him online. Yes, he now gets mostly compliments and praise, but let's be honest, it's going to take awhile for the the taste of the last 13 years to wash out of his mouth and it probably never will. I hope he finds peace with everything. It probably won't happen anytime soon from the sounds of things, but as he ages and the sting of grief starts to dull and he finds new perspectives I hope that he finds himself in a better headspace. Granted, these interviews are meant to highlight the peak emotions and I'm sure day to day he's probably not engrossed in those darker thoughts and moods, but it's apparent they are still raw for him (as expected given the circumstances).
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

    Thumbs up

Whom did he like better, Sammy or Dave?

“They both kick ass,” he wrote. “The war is dumb. Enjoy whatever you want and don’t hate somebody else if they don’t like what you like.”

I liked when he said that.

BTW I heard Wolfie's song You're To Blame during the Canadiens/Jets game last night. It's good his music is getting noticed.
