That's not an original Peavey or a 5150 III.
In January 2019 Fender/EVH hired James Brown, the original Peavey 5150 engineer. This is what will likely be called the “5150 Iconic“ - An updated take on that original circuit.

If I'm not mistaken, that is not necessarily a recent quote by Irving. There seem to be a couple of quotes used in this story from Valerie that may have come from her book.

To date, probably the best interview in print, and by a big outlet, to boot. Seems this writer has heard "Mr. Ed" which makes me very jealous with a week + to go. Didn't care for the description of Dave as the "sexy clown" (as always, so dismissive) or inclusion of pandemic challenges, which has affected absolutely everyone. Minor quibbles.

This album is only going to gain more and more steam. Release on 6/11, summer tour with GnR and other appearances, Grammy build-up later on, etc. Huge year coming up for WVH. Very, very excited for him and his family.
Why do old men wake so early? Is it to have one longer day?

    There ya go.

    RIP Ed.
The timing regarding this sentence is key. This happened in 2002, right before the Sam/Dave tour. There was no indication that VH was still a band at that time. It's not anything new, Mike has said as much.

Sadly, I think even without COVID, Eddie would've died in October anyways.

Yes, the treatments seemed to stabilize him, but he was terminal and time was short anyways. He certainly would not have been well enough to tour.

Believe me, I understand how WVH feels. It's sad to think what might have been, what we were on the verge of getting for the 40th anniversary, but realistically, little would've changed without the pandemic.

If Eddie wasn't getting all fucked up on booze, coke and meth at the time, the Sam and Dave tour probably would've been the kitchen sink tour in 2002.

Not being a doctor myself, and not having any direct knowledge of EVH's health charts, I will refrain from making any such prediction.

Very interesting Ed willed his publishing rights and masters to only Alex, and not also Wolf.

But really 100% the right thing to do.

Just going by my mom (82) and my two two sisters (48 and 52) enduring cancer in the last five years. Respectfully, let's not turn this into a discussion over whose cancer was worse because of the pandemic and where it was treated. It's fucking cancer. Let's get back to WVH.

Not surprising at all. It was Ed and Al from the start to the end.

I reckon she did. But nothing directly related to the band.

That surprises me as it'll mean Al's kids will own them at some point rather than Wolfie
