LOL... Do you really want to hear Chinese Democracy part II ??

They gave their fans what they want. PLAY THE CLASSICS.

SHOCKER>>>IT WORKED... The tour wrapped up after 158 concerts with $584.2 million grossed and 5,371,891 tickets sold. It became third highest-grossing tour in the history of Billboard's Boxscore.

Yes, I want Axl to release at least one song in a decade. I forgot this forum is a bunch of boomers already in the "nostalgia" period of their lives. My apologies.

Izzy was my favorite in the band, too.

This is as about as ideal a spot as he could have gotten. Good for him. If they make their way to Toronto I may have to see GnR again just to see him Wolfie.

What is “classic” GNR? They made what 3 records with Duff and slash and 1 without? Guns and Bozos did an amazing job capitalizing off not a lot of original music. Have to give credit where credit is due.

I do laugh at people who hate Billy Corrigan’s voice but are GNR fans or Neil Young fans. That’s what makes music so interesting. What hits us we like, regardless of how bad the voice is...

Classic to me is Appetite. Plain and simple. The songs they wrote when they were playing the clubs, being glam and just had a vibe about them. By the time Use Your Illusion came around they were a bloated band. Using modern production, adding phone calls and DTMF tones in music. Axl's voice changed a bit. Instead of banging groupies in the studio to capture sex sounds for a song, he was dating a super model

Similar to Metallica and maybe a few other bands that shall remain nameless since it may bring up a long standing argument that has no valid answer.

I do get I am in the minority however I am probably one of the few that can say I bought AFD on the day it was released since they played some cuts on ZROCK. For about 4 -5 months I tried to tell people how great this band was and nobody cared until they did get some airplay. Yes I am a hipster trapped in a Gen X body

Like AFD like everyone, but i prefer the UYI era.
More diversity in the songwriting, more maturity in the vocals, more spectacular in the shows, the orchestra, the women, the brass, the mind-blowing interpretation of Axl every night.
For me, he is definitely the best frontman all of time.
Not in this lifetime was a great tour even if Axel has lost its splendor... but the musicianship is amazing.

My point was classic GNR is only one maybe 2 records . Yet they are undeniably one of the biggest rock bands out there. Seems odd with so little recorded music. Classic VH is 6 records and they made 7 more original recordings. Like I said, have to give credit where credit is due whether your a GNR fan or not...

Yeah, they made few records - and virtually no waste, which is rare for an hard rock band.
But don't forget Use your illusion' lenght is around 150 minutes or the equivalent of the first four VH !

You also forgot what Guns is doing has been one of the MOST SUCESSFUL TOUR OF ALL TIME. You missed my point. The Guns audience is also multi generational now. Gen Xers are bringing their kids to shows. These shows are in Arenas (15,000), Baseball Stadiums (35,000) and Football Stadiums (50,000)...... Sold Out. This is an incredible opportunity for Wolf to get in front of a huge # of rock fans.

Slash has been cranking out new solid rock tunes the past decade or 2 with his solo band. Duff has a few new songs as well. Would it be interesting to hear a few new Axl songs, sure, but the majority of the ticket buying public is not demanding it.
