Certainly not the best, but somewhat cool that it's been finally been played live for the first time since 2004.

It's just bad audio from a cell phone right in front of the PA system.

I'm sure Vic doesn't sound like Ed, but you can't even hear the guitar once the rest of the band kicks in....that's just due to the location of the camera.

They can sound like ass when I see em for all I care. Totally down to see Sammy and Mike while I can and while they’re still doing this.

Though I do suspect they’ll sound fine.

Cellphone video, bad or otherwise, isn’t going to change the entire rhythm of the guitar playing.

And the intro is JUST the guitar. That’s what I was speaking about specifically.

Sammy's got the money to hire an ED clone if he wanted to. He doesn't. So when I saw Sam live, I didn't expect note for note VH songs. You hear the song themselves, especially the vocals. But you're not going there to hear some VH-style guitar playing.

He should drop the VH if the guitarist can’t do them justice. They don’t have to like Ed but at least make them sound good.

I can't imagine going to any concert and not caring about the guitar or drums. People ragged on Dave the last couple tours, fair enough, but at least Ed, Al, AND Wolf brought their A game every fucking night in 2012 and 2015 to provide some coverage for Dave. Sam doesn't have that luxury. He's left hanging, sounding like a dying frog, with a band that doesn't sound like they could hang with Emmett Otter's jug band.

Another problem is these tunes just don't sound good tuned down so much. The chorus to Top Of The World has gone from being one of the most triumphant uplifting tunes of all time to sounding like a bunch of geriatrics who would rather be sitting in a rocking chair sipping on ice tea. Sadly, that was probably the best that Vic's guitar playing was, but the vocals still sucked ass.

Weird, because they sounded much much better on those lock down videos. Here they sound like weekend warriors who get together once or twice a month in a buddy's garage for a couple hours to jam some tunes they grew up on.

I don't think anyone is expecting note for note but can he hit one out of every three? If you isolated the guitar on those tunes I wouldn't what song they were playing.

Yup, agreed. I think Vic was fine on TOTW and it turned out almost as bad as the others. It actually reminds me of when Bon Jovi does You Give Love a Bad Name and it just sounds so bad during the chorus which was so recognizable back in the day. It makes me understand why bands like Kiss pipe in some vocals.

Aside from the intro where Vic and Jason seemed like they were on different wavelengths, it sounded like Humans Being to me. The post-chorus solo sections sounded fine. The slowed down, build-up section to the last verse sounded okay.

Vic’s playing the rest of the song was fine. Not great, but not abysmal like some are making it out to be. I can find multiple bootlegs where Ed barely played the song correctly in 04’.

What hit me the most were the horrendous backing vocals, not Vic’s playing. Just sounded terrible and amateurish.

I dont think anyone in the Circle is blitzed like Ed was at a lot of shows in 2004, and plenty of people bashed Ed during that tour, so not sure what your point is there. I'd give the Butcher more of a pass if I thought he was wasted and playing like this.

Interesting you mentioned 04 as I said the same thing about Ed. I remember being at the Hamilton show and he started playing something and I turned to my brother and just asked "what song is this?" He had no idea either. I told him that we should leave, in hindsight, we should have.
