    That was hot

His music has what I would refer to as a “soaring” quality- not sure how to explain it

That riff sounds familiar I can’t place it

I was thinking it reminded me of something I’ll have to think about it.

I can tell he layered a lot of guitars I think that’s what’s bringing out that big sound.

Cool tune!! Love the layered guitars.

Something I could hear Gary or Sammy singing.

“Feel” has grown on me a bit, but didn’t resonate with me like the other tracks did.

But “Mammoth” - now we’re back on track with another banger. Lyrical content seems extremely appropriate considering what Wolf went through during his tenure in VH. Tones, riffs, etc. are all great.

Two things about Wolf’s guitar playing:

    1) I really wish he’d let loose a bit more. We haven’t gotten anything as aggressive as the You’re to Blame solo, which firmly cemented in my mind that Wolf is an extremely capable lead guitarist who is also distinct from his father.

    2) man he’s a hell of a rhythm player. Makes sense considering his experience with drums and bass, but those outro parts in this tune (and a few parts of “Feel”) highlight his control.

    "Mammoth" lyrics

    Mammoth WVH Lyrics

    Wide awake
    Now I'm home
    Right away
    How we've grown

    Not okay
    To blame yourself
And lay down and die like everybody else
    Not okay
To just give up and walk away

    Hey you!
    Anything is possible
    You're not the only one
    Yeah!
    Let 'em think you're unremarkable
    And prove them wrong

    Your mistake
    Now we're done
Stand up and fight like everybody else
    It's okay
To get back up and start again

    Hey you!
    Anything is possible
    You're not the only one
    Yeah!
    Let 'em think you're unremarkable
    And prove them wrong

    You've found the way
    A mammoth weight
    Right off our shoulders
    When you escape
    Don't hesitate
    In starting over

    Hey you!
    Anything is possible
    You're not the only one
    Yeah!
    Let 'em think you're unremarkable
    And prove them wrong

    Hey you!
    Anything is possible
    You're not the only one
    You!
    Never think that it's impossible
    And prove them wrong

    Don't you know?
    Don't you know?
There's so much more to live for
    Don't you know?
    Don't you know?
There's so much more to live for

What an absolutely great debut album this is. Love every song so far. These lyrics do seem to be pointed at all the naysayers from his time in VH. Love it.

Good song. 90's influenced but that is fine. I think he is purposely not trying to solo because it will bring up immediate comparisons to his dad. Wants to be his own guy and that is fine. Like the outro. Don't want to listen to it again because I think we are now at 6 songs. Almost half the album.

    Two things:

    1. I guess I'm in the minority, Feel was a highlight for me.

    2. Agree on point 2. The little bits of finesse are where it's at for me. Want more of that. Nothing wrong with any of the stuff, but it's not really settin my ass afire. Unfair to compare him to his dad? Probably. But it's the same standard I compare everyone to, whether their name is VH or not.

I say all this lightheartedly. I get what's to be gotten.
