    This.

ITTOD trumps Presence, and I don't think much of ITTOD.

The first six albums made Led Zep's legacy, the other two (three if you count CODA) are the garnish.

    Sounds like someone else.

NFBM is a masterclass in song writing and the use of dynamics...to me.

I need to give that one another listen, but I'm sure it will fall short of 'great' for me. Honestly, since Dickinson rejoined, over 20 years ago (feels weird writing that), I've only really liked one of the 5 albums, A Matter of Life and Death. Loved that one, start to finish. They've had several great songs over that span but too many others weren't so memorable for me.

Hard to believe it's been 6 years since Book of Souls.

After Seventh Son, all the Iron Maiden albums are at best a "like" from me.

Completely agree, except for A Matter of Life and Death. That could've been a nice follow up to 7th son. IMO, of course.

What a run they had in the 80's. Strangely enough, as soon as the calendar flipped to 1990, their music took a hit. It was also Janick Gers' first album with them. Coincidence? LOL (relates to the Gers' discussion in the Maiden thread)

Regarding Rush, they couldn't have ended on a better note with Clockwork Angels if they tried.

A couple filler tracks (Wish Them Well & Carnies come to mind), but 85% of that album is superb. Headlong Flight was the best song they had done in 25 years & The Garden is the single greatest final song to anyone's career in the music business.

For Priest, their last one, Firepower, was amazing.

Angel of Retribution was also a stellar record, hindered only by the fact that Glenn was still acting as producer back then, so the production quality wasn't that great. When Andy Sneap & Tom Allom teamed up to produce Firepower, it was excellent sounding.
