Bryan Adam's is gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The guy is literally a fucking legend on par with Elvis Presley in the UK. I'm dead serious. They revere that dude. It's generational too.

I don't get it. I have NEVER understood his appeal.

I can't even describe how big he was up here in the mid 80s. He wasn't an arena act, he was a stadium act. Not sure there's been a bigger Canadian star (maybe Shania when she got really big).

As for the UK popularity, his parents are from the UK. That never hurts. I'm sure they claimed him as one of their own.

He did make great music though.

He had the songs but I just don't understand it.

Mtv... girls wanted to fuck him... boys wanted to wear his jeans and jacket so that girls would fuck them.

We saw him at public hall or something. Screaming youth.

You may a good point that he had universal appeal. My family was at a Taylor Swift concert a few years back. Bryan Adams is introduced as a special guest and the place explodes. Not the kids of course but all the parents. We were in a box and there were 6 adults. Everyone had the same reaction, "i like that guy". Girls/guys, young/old. Didn't matter.

Bry was pretty good live back in the day. I saw him open for The Police at THAT gig in Melbourne and he was terrific.

No. A band could go into a slump but then come back to have one more great album, then slide back down again, is how I read it. Simply what you think is a band's last great album, whether or not they had some not so good or not as great albums before it.

Thats how I arrive at A Different Kind Of Truth as the answer for VH for me.

No, it's just that none of the albums after it are great albums.

To me, OU812, FUCK, Balance and ADKOT are good albums, not great, therefore 5150 is VH's last great album. As an example.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Maiden - A Matter of Life and Death (lot of garbage between this and 7th Son)
Ozzy - No More Tears (Ozzmosis was ok, definitely not great though)
AC/DC - For Those About to Rock
    Queen - Innuendo
Billy Joel - Songs in the Attic
    Metallica - Black Album
    Motley - Feelgood
    Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
Extreme - Three Sides to Every Story

Dr. Feelgood has some great songs on it, but there is a lot of filler on it too.

I think their last and only great album is Shout at the Devil.
