New Gene Simmons interview... Talks for a second about dropping Dave and the new opener.

    https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...cines-1212487/

Before the pandemic halted the tour, David Lee Roth was opening for Kiss. Now it’s the performance painter Garibaldi. So David is not back?

Not. But it bears noting that during Dave’s heyday, nobody did what he did. He was the ultimate frontman. Not Plant, not Rod Stewart, nobody. He took being a frontman way beyond anything. And then, I don’t know what happened to him… something. And you get modern-day Dave. I prefer to remember Elvis Presley in his prime. Sneering lips, back in Memphis, you know, doing all that. I don’t want to think of bloated naked Elvis on the bathroom floor.

Didn't take Gene Simmons for me to figure that out. I saw VH on the 07/08 Tour and had enough of it not to see them with him again.

I love how KISS is badly lip syncing on stage and Gene has the balls to call out other acts.

DLR is a shell of his former self live, that is true, it's called getting old, Gene should be fully aware of that by looking into the mirror every day.

Precisely what I was thinking while reading his quote.

Ironic yes, but he did speak the truth. Dave was a Rock God once. Gene said better than Plant.

His inner Liberace took control of his later years.

Maybe he has a point - but is the timing right, not even a year after Eddie has passed? That was incredibly harsh.

But what does Eddie have to do with DLR and the KISS tour?

Maybe there was something behind the scenes we don't know about that has caused Gene to say that. Maybe KISS wanted Dave back and there was a problem.

I don't even care about that.

Gene and Paul are up there lip syncing. Who in the hell are they to say anything about anyone, they are Karaoke dress up night at this point.

That's some balls. Maybe he's still pissed for getting fucked over by Dave in '84. In retaliation.

gene has some balls on him. I'm not a kiss fan but I've seen vids of them in concert lately (last tour they did with dave as the opener) and it was weak.
