Happy birthday to the Master, and the guy who inspired me more than anyone else to pick up the sticks. Still the greatest hard rock drummer ever.

I hope I haven't seen the last of him and his mastery behind the kit.

Al, take up Steve Lukather on his offer to jam and also call up Billy Sheehan and do a swinging slamming power trio project just for fun. Or actually, staying on your horse farm and being with your family and animals sounds like a dream too, so everyone should understand that as well. You will always be loved, respected, and revered by this drummer. Thanks for a lifetime of musical genius and concert memories.

He will never stop playing.

Whether he plays for anybody live again, is a more appropriate question though.

Indeed. I dont think he has ever stopped playing or ever will. But, yes, he may never play publicly again.

I remember reading somewhere, can't remember where, but Ludwig and John Douglas had already built him another custom kit for what was supposed to be the true CVH reunion tour in 2019 that both Dave and Mike had alluded to in 2018. Such a shame it wasn't meant to be.
