Very cool breakdown--this was the one he was talking about where he went off a little on the bass and drums. I was expecting that part to be a bit longer, but I thought it was the best part of the song.

This one was just OK for me. But I had a similar reaction with You're to Blame and I grew to really like that one, so we'll see...

The "And I Feel" sounds very similar to Madonna's Ray Of Light (And I Feel)

Other than that interesting tune. Seems further from VH than the other 4 songs. Good song writing once again. I like it. He really likes playing those drums.
    Right here I say....

    "Feel"

It was always the way it was supposed to be
    But it was not enough
It was always the way that you thought of me
    Was I not enough?

    You feel something
    I feel nothing
    I know something's wrong

    It's a long long way
    In another day
    Long long way
    It's another day
    It's on the way
    It's on the way

    It's a long long way
    In another day
    Long long way
    It's another day
    It's on the way
    It's on the way

    Never more than a game
    That's what we agreed
    But it was not enough
You looked at me like I was a machine
    Was I not enough?

    You feel something
    I feel nothing
    I know something's wrong

    (It's a long long way
    In another day
    Long long way
    It's another day
    It's on the way
    It's on the way...)
    And I feel
    Like something's wrong
    And I feel
    Like something's wrong
    And I feel
    Like something's wrong
    And I feel
    Like something's wrong
How were we supposed to know?

    (It's a long long way
    In another day
    Long long way
    It's another day
    It's on the way
    It's on the way...)
    And I feel
    Like something's wrong
    And I feel
    Like something's wrong
    And I feel
    Like something's wrong
    And I feel
    Like something's wrong
How were we supposed to know?

    (It's a long long way

None of the released songs so far have been bad and each one has some elements that I enjoy in the compositions and various instrument parts.

The one thing that struck me with this new tune is... it's all starting to sound the same. Which is to be expected given it's all written and performed by 1 person.

I guess what's starting to emerge in my mind is, while there's variation in the compositions to certain degree... it's now becoming evident that the musical spectrum in both tone, tempo and compositional style is starting to feel a bit narrow. Especially in the vocal melodies and harmonies... again not bad, just not quite as interesting to my ears once you in a couple tunes.

Some pretty awesome drumming and bass playing later in the song. The start was a bit soft - but it continues to build momentum and be a kicking tune.

Yeah, I agree. Background vocals are the same voice especially in this song. Started thinking it needed Mikey but didn't want to bring it up (even though I just did).

Well said. I was wondering if Wolf would benefit from having other musicians record with him. Obviously it's a singular vision and he has said that he wanted to see if he could do it--clearly he can. But if he ever does hit the road for a tour and builds some chemistry with his bandmates, it may service his songs well to have some different musicians join him in the studio. Of course, he may then become a bit of a micromanager. LOL But I believe it would be good to get some different perspectives and interpretations of his musical ideas.

    Or not.

I dig it What's not to like about a song with a drum solo in 2021?

"Feel" is definitely a more challenging listen, but that's why I like it...it's a departure from the catchier tunes we've heard so far (to my ear, at least). This one makes me feel uncomfortable, but in a sort of way. I agree that by the very nature of this album, each song will sound familiar because it's all WVH. But man, these songs have been all over the map musically. I have the feeling we're in for a wild ride when the whole thing is released in June.

Love it. Top notch music and songcraft. My only minor gripe with this one is the "long long way, in another day" part sounds like the "don't back down, just don't back down"
Maybe it's just me though. Killer nonetheless.

Yep, I hear it too. But that's one of the reasons "Jump" and "Panama" worked so well together back-to-back...just similar enough openings to be noticeable, but different enough in approach to completely stand on their own.

definitely hear some of his uncle's influence on the drums, and the music itself sounds great but structurally it didn't do much for me either.

Then again, I am not his target audience so hopefully the crowd that might like this really digs it.
