Default Isloated Vocals - 'Dancing In The Street'?

    Hi guys,
I know this song gets a bad rap but I really love it and it still gets radio play in Chicago. To me, the covers that should have been omitted on 'Diver Down' are "Where Have All The Good Times Gone," "Happy Trails," and "Big Bad Bill."

Anyways, I know there are a lot of isolated vocals out there and I believe they derive from the Guitar Hero game.

I'd love to hear just Dave's lead and Mikey's background on "Dancing In The Street." Does anyone know if this exists or how I might be able to extract just the vocals?

    Best,
    Steve

Big Bad Bill?? The brothers played with their dad on that one. It's kind of special. No, that stays.

But, to your point, I always thought the strength of DITS was the background vocals. Other than that, I think THAT is the cover that should have been omitted.

Yeah, I dont know how any VH fan would want BBB to be deleted, unless they just absolutely hate swing/jazz music.

I know it's just simply not what I would consider a VH song, but fuck, it's hard not to get happy listening to that.

So much better than any other version, including the original.

I know I’m in the minority, but I really enjoy Diver Down from beginning to end. It was part of the sound track of 11th grade high school for me. I still have it on vinyl from back in the 80's.

For me it's a nostalgia trip too.

My brother took me to the Diver Down show at Largo Maryland (yes, that one), and then he got me Diver Down as a present for Christmas. So, Diver Down is always going to pull at my heart strings a little bit, no matter all its faults.

Didn't know Joan Jett was fronting The Struts, things you learn on YouTube.

Default Isloated Vocals - 'Dancing In The Street'?

Big Bad Bill is a fun little tune plus pops is on it, but Dancing In the Street is blech!!!! Ed’s great playing is wasted on that weak POS cover IMO.

DD, have you heard of the Hurricane Halen bootleg from that Largo show in '82?

I walked into a music store in Newport News about a month ago and found it on vinyl. The sound it pretty good.

    Is that singer a dude?

Sounds to me like they’re basically doing the Van Halen version of the song.

Ed and Al hated it, didn't they? I remember Al saying "That isn't Van Halen."

I was falling asleep at the wheel and the Eddie tribute was on sirius and DITS came on, I cranked it and was flying down the toll road. It woke me up. I have a nice stereo system in my car, it sounded really great, that's when I decided, Hey, I like this song!
